(This is the good news, the Gospel)

Merciful God made a way for us to avoid our eternal debt to Him

The Ancient of Days sent God the Word, the creator of everything that has been created, to become human

John 1:14

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

verses for virgin birth with Mary and the Spirit, Jesus was fully human but still fully God in identity. He lived a sinless life, living in complete submission to God.

He became our Kinsman Redeemer and our sins were imputed to him and he died on a cross enduring separation from God (for the first time) that we deserved

Our sins were put upon him and Jesus paid our ransom, allowing God to show mercy

God chooses to grant the grace of salvation from His wrath to people based on their faith, their belief in God and God's Word.

Since the debt is infinite we have no other way to pay -- our best works are like dirty rags. The only way to salvation is God's grace.

When we die with the righteousness given to us by Jesus, we can live in fellowship with the perfect and Holy God for eternity in heaven.

God will not share his glory. If we come with our works and want to add them to God's grace, we have to stand on our works alone without grace. Those are the terms. All God or all us, and only one way ends up well for us.

Salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone.

Again, we do not do works to be saved or to be right with God, Jesus is the only way to do that, but our faith in God and our gratitude cause us to want to take action
