Daniel 3:11
| ← Daniel 3:10 | Daniel 3:11 (KJV) | Daniel 3:12 → |
|---|---|---|
Thou, O king, hast made a decree, that every man that shall hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, shall fall down and worship the golden image:
|
And whoso falleth not down and worshippeth, [that] he should be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.
|
There are certain Jews whom thou hast set over the affairs of the province of Babylon, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego; these men, O king, have not regarded thee: they serve not thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.

- H3345 — יְקַד (yᵉqad, yek-ad'): (Aramaic) corresponding to יָקַד; {to burn}; burning.
- H3809 — לָא (lâʼ, law): (Aramaic) or לָה; (Aramaic) (Daniel 4:32), corresponding to לֹא; {not (the simple or abs. negation); by implication, no;}; or even, neither, no(-ne, -r), (can-) not, as nothing, without.
- H4479 — מָן (mân, mawn): (Aramaic) from מָה; who or what (properly, interrogatively, hence, also indefinitely and relatively); what, who(-msoever, [phrase] -so).
- H5135 — נוּר (nûwr, noor): (Aramaic) from an unused root (corresponding to that of נִיר) meaning to shine; fire; fiery, fire.
- H5308 — נְפַל (nᵉphal, nef-al'): (Aramaic) corresponding to נָפַל; {to fall, in a great variety of applications (intransitive or causative, literal or figurative)}; fall (down), have occasion.
- H5457 — סְגִד (çᵉgid, seg-eed'): (Aramaic) corresponding to סָגַד; {to prostrate oneself (in homage)}; worship.
- H7412 — רְמָה (rᵉmâh, rem-aw'): (Aramaic) corresponding to רָמָה; to throw, set, (figuratively) assess; cast (down), impose.
The following Strong's numbers are referenced in the Hebrew (Westminster Leningrad Codex) text but were not explicitly tagged in the KJV source:
- H1768 — דִּי (dîy, dee): (Aramaic) apparently for דָּא; that, used as relative conjunction, and especially (with a preposition) in adverbial phrases; also as preposition of; [idiom] as, but, for(-asmuch [phrase]), [phrase] now, of, seeing, than, that, therefore, until, [phrase] what (-soever), when, which, whom, whose.
