Acts 10:18

Acts 10:17 Acts 10:18 (KJV) Acts 10:19
Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men which were sent from Cornelius had made enquiry for Simon's house, and stood before the gate,
And called, and asked whether Simon, which was surnamed Peter, were lodged there.
While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek thee.

Strong's References
  • G1487 — εἰ (ei, i): if — a primary particle of conditionality; if, whether, that, etc.:--forasmuch as, if, that, (al-)though, whether. Often used in connection or composition with other particles, especially as in εἴγε, εἰ δὲ μή(γε), εἰ καί, εἰ μή, εἰ μή τι, εἴ περ, εἴ πως, εἴ τις, ἐκ. See also ἐάν.
  • G1759 — ἐνθάδε (entháde, en-thad'-eh): here, in this place — from a prolonged form of ἐν; properly, within, i.e. (of place) here, hither:--(t-)here, hither.
  • G1941 — ἐπικαλέομαι (epikaléomai, ep-ee-kal-eh'-om-ahee): I call by an additional name, appeal to — middle voice from ἐπί and καλέω; to entitle; by implication, to invoke (for aid, worship, testimony, decision, etc.):--appeal (unto), call (on, upon), surname.
  • G2532 — καί (kaí, kahee): and, even, also, namely — apparently, a primary particle, having a copulative and sometimes also a cumulative force; and, also, even, so then, too, etc.; often used in connection (or composition) with other particles or small words:--and, also, both, but, even, for, if, or, so, that, then, therefore, when, yet.
  • G3579 — ξενίζω (xenízō, xen-id'-zo): I entertain a stranger, I startle — from ξένος; to be a host (passively, a guest); by implication, be (make, appear) strange:--entertain, lodge, (think it) strange.
  • G3588 — ὁ (ho, ho): the — the definite article; the (sometimes to be supplied, at others omitted, in English idiom):--the, this, that, one, he, she, it, etc.
  • G4074 — Πέτρος (Pétros, pet'-ros): Peter — apparently a primary word; a (piece of) rock (larger than λίθος); as a name, Petrus, an apostle:--Peter, rock. Compare Κηφᾶς.
  • G4441 — πυνθάνομαι (pynthánomai, poon-than'-om-ahee): I ask, inquire — middle voice prolonged from a primary (which occurs only as an alternate in certain tenses); to question, i.e. ascertain by inquiry (as a matter of information merely; and thus differing from ἐρωτάω, which properly means a request as a favor; and from αἰτέω, which is strictly a demand for something due; as well as from ζητέω, which implies a search for something hidden; and from δέομαι, which involves the idea of urgent need); by implication, to learn (by casual intelligence):--ask, demand, enquire, understand.
  • G4613 — Σίμων (Símōn, see'-mone): Simon — of Hebrew origin (שִׁמְעוֹן); Simon (i.e. Shimon), the name of nine Israelites:--Simon. Compare Συμεών.
  • G5455 — φωνέω (phōnéō, fo-neh'-o): I crow, shout, summon — from φωνή; to emit a sound (animal, human or instrumental); by implication, to address in words or by name, also in imitation:--call (for), crow, cry.
