I was in the city of Joppa praying: and in a trance I saw a vision, A certain vessel descend, as it had been a great sheet, let down from heaven by four corners; and it came even to me:

Upon the which when I had fastened mine eyes, I considered, and saw fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.

- G746 — ἀρχή (archḗ, ar-khay'): ruler, beginning — from ἄρχομαι; (properly abstract) a commencement, or (concretely) chief (in various applications of order, time, place, or rank):--beginning, corner, (at the, the) first (estate), magistrate, power, principality, principle, rule.
- G891 — ἄχρι (áchri, akh'-ree): as far as, up to, until — akin to ἄκρον (through the idea of a terminus); (of time) until or (of place) up to:--as far as, for, in(-to), till, (even, un-)to, until, while. Compare μέχρι.
- G1473 — ἐγώ (egṓ, eg-o'): I — a primary pronoun of the first person I (only expressed when emphatic):--I, me. For the other cases and the plural see ἐμέ, ἐμοί, ἐμοῦ, ἡμᾶς, ἡμεῖς, ἡμῖν, ἡμῶν, etc.
- G1492 — εἴδω (eídō, i'-do): I know, remember — a primary verb; used only in certain past tenses, the others being borrowed from the equivalent ὀπτάνομαι and ὁράω; properly, to see (literally or figuratively); by implication, (in the perfect tense only) to know:--be aware, behold, X can (+ not tell), consider, (have) know(-ledge), look (on), perceive, see, be sure, tell, understand, wish, wot. - G1611 — ἔκστασις (ékstasis, ek'-stas-is): bewilderment, amazement — from ἐξίστημι; a displacement of the mind, i.e. bewilderment, "ecstasy":--+ be amazed, amazement, astonishment, trance.
- G1700 — ἐμοῦ (emoû, em-oo'): a prolonged form of μόχθος; of me:--me, mine, my.

- G2064 — ἔρχομαι (érchomai, er'-khom-ahee): I come, go — middle voice of a primary verb (used only in the present and imperfect tenses, the others being supplied by a kindred (middle voice) , or (active) , which do not otherwise occur); to come or go (in a great variety of applications, literally and figuratively):--accompany, appear, bring, come, enter, fall out, go, grow, X light, X next, pass, resort, be set.
- G2252 — ἤμην (ḗmēn, ay'-mane): a prolonged form of ἦν; I was:--be, was. (Sometimes unexpressed).
- G2445 — Ἰόππη (Ióppē, ee-op'-pay): Joppa — of Hebrew origin (יָפוֹ); Joppe (i.e. Japho), a place in Palestine:--Joppa.

- G3173 — μέγας (mégas, meg'-as): large, great — (including the prolonged forms, feminine , plural , etc.; compare also μέγιστος, μείζων); big (literally or figuratively, in a very wide application):--(+ fear) exceedingly, great(-est), high, large, loud, mighty, + (be) sore (afraid), strong, X to years.
- G3607 — ὀθόνη (othónē, oth-on'-ay): a linen cloth, sheet — of uncertain affinity; a linen cloth, i.e. (especially) a sail:--sheet.
- G3705 — ὅραμα (hórama, hor'-am-ah): a spectacle, vision — from ὁράω; something gazed at, i.e. a spectacle (especially supernatural):--sight, vision.
- G3772 — οὐρανός (ouranós, oo-ran-os'): the sky, the heaven — perhaps from the same as ὄρος (through the idea of elevation); the sky; by extension, heaven (as the abode of God); by implication, happiness, power, eternity; specially, the Gospel (Christianity):--air, heaven(-ly), sky.
- G4172 — πόλις (pólis, pol'-is): a city — probably from the same as πόλεμος, or perhaps from πολύς; a town (properly, with walls, of greater or less size):--city.
- G4336 — προσεύχομαι (proseúchomai, pros-yoo'-khom-ahee): I pray, pray for — from πρός and εὔχομαι; to pray to God, i.e. supplicate, worship:--pray (X earnestly, for), make prayer.
- G4632 — σκεῦος (skeûos, skyoo'-os): a vessel to contain liquid, utensil, tackle — of uncertain affinity; a vessel, implement, equipment or apparatus (literally or figuratively [specially, a wife as contributing to the usefulness of the husband]):--goods, sail, stuff, vessel.
