1 Corinthians 4:3
| ← 1 Corinthians 4:2 | 1 Corinthians 4:3 (KJV) | 1 Corinthians 4:4 → |
|---|---|---|
Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.
|
But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man's judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self.
|
For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord.

- G350 — ἀνακρίνω (anakrínō, an-ak-ree'-no): I examine, inquire into — from ἀνά and κρίνω; properly, to scrutinize, i.e. (by implication) investigate, interrogate, determine:--ask, question, discern, examine, judge, search.
- G442 — ἀνθρώπινος (anthrṓpinos, anth-ro'-pee-nos): belonging to human beings, human — from ἄνθρωπος; human:--human, common to man, man(-kind), (man-)kind, men's, after the manner of men.
- G1161 — δέ (dé, deh): but, on the other hand, and — a primary particle (adversative or continuative); but, and, etc.:--also, and, but, moreover, now (often unexpressed in English).
- G1519 — εἰς (eis, ice): into, in, among, till, for — a primary preposition; to or into (indicating the point reached or entered), of place, time, or (figuratively) purpose (result, etc.); also in adverbial phrases:--(abundant-)ly, against, among, as, at, (back-)ward, before, by, concerning, + continual, + far more exceeding, for (intent, purpose), fore, + forth, in (among, at, unto, -so much that, -to), to the intent that, + of one mind, + never, of, (up-)on, + perish, + set at one again, (so) that, therefore(-unto), throughout, til, to (be, the end, -ward), (here-)until(-to), …ward, (where-)fore, with. Often used in composition with the same general import, but only with verbs (etc.) expressing motion (literally or figuratively).
- G1646 — ἐλάχιστος (eláchistos, el-akh'-is-tos): least, smallest, very little — superlative of (short); used as equivalent to μικρός; least (in size, amount, dignity, etc.):--least, very little (small), smallest.
- G1683 — ἐμαυτοῦ (emautoû, em-ow-too'): of myself — genitive case compound of ἐμοῦ and αὐτός; of myself so likewise the dative case , and accusative case :--me, mine own (self), myself.

- G2228 — ἤ (ḗ, ay): or, than — a primary particle of distinction between two connected terms; disjunctive, or; comparative, than:--and, but (either), (n-)either, except it be, (n-)or (else), rather, save, than, that, what, yea. Often used in connection with other particles. Compare especially ἤδη, ἤπερ, ἤτοι.
- G2250 — ἡμέρα (hēméra, hay-mer'-ah): a day — feminine (with ὥρα implied) of a derivative of (to sit; akin to the base of ἑδραῖος) meaning tame, i.e. gentle; day, i.e. (literally) the time space between dawn and dark, or the whole 24 hours (but several days were usually reckoned by the Jews as inclusive of the parts of both extremes); figuratively, a period (always defined more or less clearly by the context):--age, + alway, (mid-)day (by day, (-ly)), + for ever, judgment, (day) time, while, years.
- G2443 — ἵνα (hína, hin'-ah): in order that, so that — probably from the same as the former part of ἑαυτοῦ (through the demonstrative idea; compare ὁ); in order that (denoting the purpose or the result):--albeit, because, to the intent (that), lest, so as, (so) that, (for) to. Compare ἵνα μή.
