And from the face of the gate of the entrance unto the face of the porch of the inner gate [were] fifty cubits.

And [there were] narrow windows to the little chambers, and to their posts within the gate round about, and likewise to the arches: and windows [were] round about inward: and upon [each] post [were] palm trees.

Then brought he me into the outward court, and, lo, [there were] chambers, and a pavement made for the court round about: thirty chambers [were] upon the pavement.

- H331 — אָטַם (ʼâṭam, aw-tam'): a primitive root; to close (the lips or ears); by analology to contract (a window by bevelled jambs); narrow, shut, stop.
- H352 — אַיִל (ʼayil, ah'-yil): from the same as אוּל; properly, strength; hence, anything strong; specifically a chief (politically); also a ram (from his strength); a pilaster (as a strong support); an oak or other strong tree; mighty (man), lintel, oak, post, ram, tree.
- H361 — אֵילָם (ʼêylâm, ay-lawm'): or (shortened) אֵלָם ; or (feminine) אֵלַמָּה ; probably from אַיִל; a pillar-space (or colonnade), i.e. a pale (or portico); arch.
