Luke 9:43

Luke 9:42 Luke 9:43 (KJV) Luke 9:44 [words of Jesus]
And as he was yet a coming, the devil threw him down, and tare [him]. And Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the child, and delivered him again to his father.
And they were all amazed at the mighty power of God. But while they wondered every one at all things which Jesus did, he said unto his disciples,
Let these sayings sink down into your ears: for the Son of man shall be delivered into the hands of men.

Compare αὑτοῦ.
  • G1161 — δέ (dé, deh): but, on the other hand, and — a primary particle (adversative or continuative); but, and, etc.:--also, and, but, moreover, now (often unexpressed in English).
  • G1605 — ἐκπλήσσω (ekplḗssō, ek-place'-so): I am thunderstruck, astounded — from ἐκ and πλήσσω; to strike with astonishment:--amaze, astonish.
  • G1909 — ἐπί (epí, ep-ee'): on, to, against, on the basis of, at — a primary preposition; properly, meaning superimposition (of time, place, order, etc.), as a relation of distribution (with the genitive case), i.e. over, upon, etc.; of rest (with the dative case) at, on, etc.; of direction (with the accusative case) towards, upon, etc.:--about (the times), above, after, against, among, as long as (touching), at, beside, X have charge of, (be-, (where-))fore, in (a place, as much as, the time of, -to), (because) of, (up-)on (behalf of), over, (by, for) the space of, through(-out), (un-)to(-ward), with. In compounds it retains essentially the same import, at, upon, etc. (literally or figuratively).
  • G2036 — ἔπω (épō, ep'-o): a primary verb (used only in the definite past tense, the others being borrowed from ἐρέω, ῥέω, and φημί); to speak or say (by word or writing):--answer, bid, bring word, call, command, grant, say (on), speak, tell. Compare λέγω.
  • G2296 — θαυμάζω (thaumázō, thou-mad'-zo): I wonder, admire — from θαῦμα; to wonder; by implication, to admire:--admire, have in admiration, marvel, wonder.
  • G2316 — θεός (theós, theh'-os): God, a god — of uncertain affinity; a deity, especially (with ὁ) the supreme Divinity; figuratively, a magistrate; by Hebraism, very:--X exceeding, God, god(-ly, -ward).
  • G2424 — Ἰησοῦς (Iēsoûs, ee-ay-sooce'): Jesus — of Hebrew origin (יְהוֹשׁוּעַ); Jesus (i.e. Jehoshua), the name of our Lord and two (three) other Israelites:--Jesus.
  • G3101 — μαθητής (mathētḗs, math-ay-tes'): a learner, disciple, pupil — from μανθάνω; a learner, i.e. pupil:--disciple.
  • G3168 — μεγαλειότης (megaleiótēs, meg-al-i-ot'-ace): majesty — from μεγαλεῖος; superbness, i.e. glory or splendor:--magnificence, majesty, mighty power.
  • G3739 — ὅς (hós, hos): who, which, what, that — probably a primary word (or perhaps a form of the article ὁ); the relatively (sometimes demonstrative) pronoun, who, which, what, that:--one, (an-, the) other, some, that, what, which, who(-m, -se), etc. See also οὗ.
  • G3956 — πᾶς (pâs, pas): all, the whole, every kind of — including all the forms of declension; apparently a primary word; all, any, every, the whole:--all (manner of, means), alway(-s), any (one), X daily, + ever, every (one, way), as many as, + no(-thing), X thoroughly, whatsoever, whole, whosoever.
  • G4160 — ποιέω (poiéō, poy-eh'-o): I do, make — apparently a prolonged form of an obsolete primary; to make or do (in a very wide application, more or less direct):--abide, + agree, appoint, X avenge, + band together, be, bear, + bewray, bring (forth), cast out, cause, commit, + content, continue, deal, + without any delay, (would) do(-ing), execute, exercise, fulfil, gain, give, have, hold, X journeying, keep, + lay wait, + lighten the ship, make, X mean, + none of these things move me, observe, ordain, perform, provide, + have purged, purpose, put, + raising up, X secure, shew, X shoot out, spend, take, tarry, + transgress the law, work, yield. • G4314 — πρός (prós, pros): to, towards, with — a strengthened form of πρό; a preposition of direction; forward to, i.e. toward (with the genitive case, the side of, i.e. pertaining to; with the dative case, by the side of, i.e. near to; usually with the accusative case, the place, time, occasion, or respect, which is the destination of the relation, i.e. whither or for which it is predicated):--about, according to , against, among, at, because of, before, between, (where-)by, for, X at thy house, in, for intent, nigh unto, of, which pertain to, that, to (the end that), X together, to (you) -ward, unto, with(-in). In the comparative case, it denotes essentially the same applications, namely, motion towards, accession to, or nearness at.
