2 Chronicles 12:2 2 Chronicles 12:3 (KJV) 2 Chronicles 12:4
And it came to pass, [that] in the fifth year of king Rehoboam Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, because they had transgressed against the LORD,
With twelve hundred chariots, and threescore thousand horsemen: and the people [were] without number that came with him out of Egypt; the Lubims, the Sukkiims, and the Ethiopians.
And he took the fenced cities which [pertained] to Judah, and came to Jerusalem.

  • H3569 — כּוּשִׁי (Kûwshîy, koo-shee'): patronymically from כּוּשׁ; a Cushite, or descendant of Cush; Cushi, Cushite, Ethiopian(-s).
  • H3864 — לוּבִי (Lûwbîy, loo-bee'): or לֻבִּי; (Daniel 11:43), partrial from a name probably derived from an unused root meaning to thirst, i.e. a dry region; apparently; a Libyan or inhabitant of interior Africa (only in plural); Lubim(-s), Libyans.
  • H3967 — מֵאָה (mêʼâh, may-aw'): or מֵאיָה; properly, a primitive numeral; a hundred; also as a multiplicative and a fraction; hundred((-fold), -th), [phrase] sixscore.
  • H4557 — מִסְפָּר (miçpâr, mis-pawr'): from סָפַר; a number, definite (arithmetical) or indefinite (large, innumerable; small, a few); also (abstractly) narration; [phrase] abundance, account, [idiom] all, [idiom] few, (in-) finite, (certain) number(-ed), tale, telling, [phrase] time.

  • H5525 — סֻכִּי (Çukkîy, sook-kee'): patrial from an unknown name (perhaps סֹךְ); a Sukkite, or inhabitant of some place near Egypt (i.e. hut-dwellers); Sukkiims.
  • H5971 — עַם (ʻam, am): from עָמַם; a people (as a congregated unit); specifically, a tribe (as those of Israel); hence (collectively) troops or attendants; figuratively, a flock; folk, men, nation, people.
  • H6571 — פָּרָשׁ (pârâsh, paw-rawsh'): from פָּרָשׁ; (compare סוּס); a steed (as stretched out to a vehicle, not single nor for mounting ); also (by implication) a driver (in a chariot), i.e. (collectively) cavalry; horseman.
  • H7393 — רֶכֶב (rekeb, reh'-keb): from רָכַב; a vehicle; by implication, a team; by extension, cavalry; by analogy a rider, i.e. the upper millstone; chariot, (upper) millstone, multitude (from the margin), wagon.
  • H8346 — שִׁשִּׁים (shishshîym, shish-sheem'): multiple of שֵׁשׁ; sixty; sixty, three score.

The following Strong's numbers are referenced in the Hebrew (Westminster Leningrad Codex) text but were not explicitly tagged in the KJV source:

  • H369 — אַיִן (ʼayin, ah'-yin): as if from a primitive root meaning to be nothing or not exist; a non-entity; generally used as a negative particle; else, except, fail, (father-) less, be gone, in(-curable), neither, never, no (where), none, nor, (any, thing), not, nothing, to nought, past, un(-searchable), well-nigh, without. Compare אַיִן.

As it is indeclinable, it is often accompanied by the personal pronoun expletively, used to show the connection.
  • H5973 — עִם (ʻim, eem): from עָמַם; adverb or preposition, with (i.e. in conjunction with), in varied applications; specifically, equally with; often with prepositional prefix (and then usually unrepresented in English); accompanying, against, and, as ([idiom] long as), before, beside, by (reason of), for all, from (among, between), in, like, more than, of, (un-) to, with(-al).
