Leviticus 25:6

Leviticus 25:5 Leviticus 25:6 (KJV) Leviticus 25:7
That which groweth of its own accord of thy harvest thou shalt not reap, neither gather the grapes of thy vine undressed: [for] it is a year of rest unto the land.
And the sabbath of the land shall be meat for you; for thee, and for thy servant, and for thy maid, and for thy hired servant, and for thy stranger that sojourneth with thee,
And for thy cattle, and for the beast that [are] in thy land, shall all the increase thereof be meat.

Strong's References
  • H402 — אׇכְלָה (ʼoklâh, ok-law'): feminine of אֻכָל; food; consume, devour, eat, food, meat.
  • H519 — אָמָה (ʼâmâh, aw-maw'): apparently a primitive word; a maidservant or female slave; (hand-) bondmaid(-woman), maid(-servant).
  • H776 — אֶרֶץ (ʼerets, eh'-rets): from an unused root probably meaning to be firm; the earth (at large, or partitively a land); [idiom] common, country, earth, field, ground, land, [idiom] natins, way, [phrase] wilderness, world.
  • H1481 — גּוּר (gûwr, goor): a primitive root; properly, to turn aside from the road (for a lodging or any other purpose), i.e. sojourn (as a guest); also to shrink, fear (as in a strange place); also to gather forhostility (as afraid); abide, assemble, be afraid, dwell, fear, gather (together), inhabitant, remain, sojourn, stand in awe, (be) stranger, [idiom] surely.
  • H5650 — עֶבֶד (ʻebed, eh'-bed): from עָבַד; a servant; [idiom] bondage, bondman, (bond-) servant, (man-) servant.
  • H7676 — שַׁבָּת (shabbâth, shab-bawth'): intensive from שָׁבַת; intermission, i.e (specifically) the Sabbath; ([phrase] every) sabbath.
  • H7916 — שָׂכִיר (sâkîyr, saw-keer'): from שָׂכַר; a man at wages by the day or year; hired (man, servant), hireling.
  • H8453 — תּוֹשָׁב (tôwshâb, to-shawb'): or תֹּשָׁב; (1 Kings 17:1), from יָשַׁב; a dweller (but not outlandish (נׇכְרִי)); especially (as distinguished from a native citizen (active participle of יָשַׁב) and a temporary inmate (גֵּר) or mere lodger (לוּן)); resident alien; foreigner, inhabitant, sojourner, stranger.

The following Strong's numbers are referenced in the Hebrew (Westminster Leningrad Codex) text but were not explicitly tagged in the KJV source:

  • H1961 — הָיָה (hâyâh, haw-yaw): a primitive root (compare הָוָא); to exist, i.e. be or become, come to pass (always emphatic, and not a mere copula or auxiliary); beacon, [idiom] altogether, be(-come), accomplished, committed, like), break, cause, come (to pass), do, faint, fall, [phrase] follow, happen, [idiom] have, last, pertain, quit (one-) self, require, [idiom] use.
  • H5973 — עִם (ʻim, eem): from עָמַם; adverb or preposition, with (i.e. in conjunction with), in varied applications; specifically, equally with; often with prepositional prefix (and then usually unrepresented in English); accompanying, against, and, as ([idiom] long as), before, beside, by (reason of), for all, from (among, between), in, like, more than, of, (un-) to, with(-al).
