Galatians 2:3

Galatians 2:2 Galatians 2:3 (KJV) Galatians 2:4
And I went up by revelation, and communicated unto them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to them which were of reputation, lest by any means I should run, or had run, in vain.
But neither Titus, who was with me, being a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised:
And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage:

Strong's References

  • G315 — ἀναγκάζω (anankázō, an-ang-kad'-zo): I force, compel — from ἀνάγκη; to necessitate:--compel, constrain.
  • G1672 — Ἕλλην (Héllēn, hel'-lane): a Hellene, a Greek — from Ἑλλάς; a Hellen (Grecian) or inhabitant of Hellas; by extension a Greek-speaking person, especially a non-Jew:-- Gentile, Greek.
  • G1698 — ἐμοί (emoí, em-oy'): a prolonged form of μοί; to me:--I, me, mine, my.

  • G3761 — οὐδέ (oudé, oo-deh'): neither, nor, not even — from οὐ and δέ; not however, i.e. neither, nor, not even:--neither (indeed), never, no (more, nor, not), nor (yet), (also, even, then) not (even, so much as), + nothing, so much as.
  • G4059 — περιτέμνω (peritémnō, per-ee-tem'-no): I circumcise — from περί and the base of τομώτερος; to cut around, i.e. (specially) to circumcise:--circumcise.
  • G4862 — σύν (sýn, soon): with — a primary preposition denoting union; with or together (but much closer than μετά or παρά), i.e. by association, companionship, process, resemblance, possession, instrumentality, addition, etc.:--beside, with. In composition it has similar applications, including completeness.
  • G5103 — Τίτος (Títos, tee'-tos): Titus — of Latin origin but uncertain significance; Titus, a Christian:--Titus.

The following Strong's numbers are referenced in the Greek (Textus Receptus, Scrivener 1894) text but were not explicitly tagged in the KJV source:
