Galatians 5:11
| ← Galatians 5:10 | Galatians 5:11 (KJV) | Galatians 5:12 → |
|---|---|---|
I have confidence in you through the Lord, that ye will be none otherwise minded: but he that troubleth you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be.
|
And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased.
|
I would they were even cut off which trouble you.

Strong's References
- G80 — ἀδελφός (adelphós, ad-el-fos'): a brother — from Α (as a connective particle) and (the womb); a brother (literally or figuratively) near or remote (much like Α):--brother.
- G686 — ἄρα (ára, ar'-ah): then, therefore, since — probably from αἴρω (through the idea of drawing a conclusion); a particle denoting an inference more or less decisive (as follows):--haply, (what) manner (of man), no doubt, perhaps, so be, then, therefore, truly, wherefore. Often used in connection with other particles, especially γέ or οὖν (after) or εἰ (before). Compare also ἆρα.
- G1161 — δέ (dé, deh): but, on the other hand, and — a primary particle (adversative or continuative); but, and, etc.:--also, and, but, moreover, now (often unexpressed in English).
- G1377 — διώκω (diṓkō, dee-o'-ko): I pursue, persecute — a prolonged (and causative) form of a primary verb (to flee; compare the base of δειλός and διάκονος); to pursue (literally or figuratively); by implication, to persecute:--ensue, follow (after), given to, (suffer) persecute(-ion), press forward.
- G1473 — ἐγώ (egṓ, eg-o'): I — a primary pronoun of the first person I (only expressed when emphatic):--I, me. For the other cases and the plural see ἐμέ, ἐμοί, ἐμοῦ, ἡμᾶς, ἡμεῖς, ἡμῖν, ἡμῶν, etc.
- G1487 — εἰ (ei, i): if — a primary particle of conditionality; if, whether, that, etc.:--forasmuch as, if, that, (al-)though, whether. Often used in connection or composition with other particles, especially as in εἴγε, εἰ δὲ μή(γε), εἰ καί, εἰ μή, εἰ μή τι, εἴ περ, εἴ πως, εἴ τις, ἐκ. See also ἐάν.
- G2089 — ἔτι (éti, et'-ee): still, yet, even now — perhaps akin to ἔτος; "yet," still (of time or degree):--after that, also, ever, (any) further, (t-)henceforth (more), hereafter, (any) longer, (any) more(-one), now, still, yet.
- G2673 — καταργέω (katargéō, kat-arg-eh'-o): I bring to naught, sever, abolish — from κατά and ἀργέω; to be (render) entirely idle (useless), literally or figuratively:--abolish, cease, cumber, deliver, destroy, do away, become (make) of no (none, without) effect, fail, loose, bring (come) to nought, put away (down), vanish away, make void.
- G2784 — κηρύσσω (kērýssō, kay-roos'-so): I proclaim, herald, preach — of uncertain affinity; to herald (as a public crier), especially divine truth (the gospel):--preacher(-er), proclaim, publish.
- G4061 — περιτομή (peritomḗ, per-it-om-ay'): circumcision — from περιτέμνω; circumcision (the rite, the condition or the people, literally or figuratively):--X circumcised, circumcision.
- G4625 — σκάνδαλον (skándalon, skan'-dal-on): a snare, stumbling-block — ("scandal"); probably from a derivative of κάμπτω; a trap-stick (bent sapling), i.e. snare (figuratively, cause of displeasure or sin):--occasion to fall (of stumbling), offence, thing that offends, stumblingblock.
- G4716 — σταυρός (staurós, stow-ros'): a cross — from the base of ἵστημι; a stake or post (as set upright), i.e. (specially), a pole or cross (as an instrument of capital punishment); figuratively, exposure to death, i.e. self-denial; by implication, the atonement of Christ:--cross.
- G5101 — τίς (tís, tis): who, which, what — probably emphatic of τὶς; an interrogative pronoun, who, which or what (in direct or indirect questions):--every man, how (much), + no(-ne, thing), what (manner, thing), where (-by, -fore, -of, -unto, - with, -withal), whether, which, who(-m, -se), why.
The following Strong's numbers are referenced in the Greek (Textus Receptus, Scrivener 1894) text but were not explicitly tagged in the KJV source:
- G3588 — ὁ (ho, ho): the — the definite article; the (sometimes to be supplied, at others omitted, in English idiom):--the, this, that, one, he, she, it, etc.
