• G138 — αἱρέομαι (hairéomai, hahee-reh'-om-ahee): I choose, prefer — probably akin to αἴρω; to take for oneself, i.e. to prefer:--choose. Some of the forms are borrowed from a cognate  ; which is otherwise obsolete.
