Acts 7:43
| ← Acts 7:42 | Acts 7:43 (KJV) | Acts 7:44 → |
|---|---|---|
Then God turned, and gave them up to worship the host of heaven; as it is written in the book of the prophets, O ye house of Israel, have ye offered to me slain beasts and sacrifices [by the space of] forty years in the wilderness?
|
Yea, ye took up the tabernacle of Moloch, and the star of your god Remphan, figures which ye made to worship them: and I will carry you away beyond Babylon.
|
Our fathers had the tabernacle of witness in the wilderness, as he had appointed, speaking unto Moses, that he should make it according to the fashion that he had seen.

Babulōnos | G897 | N-GSF | Babylon |
- G353 — ἀναλαμβάνω (analambánō, an-al-am-ban'-o): I take up, raise — from ἀνά and λαμβάνω; to take up:--receive up, take (in, unto, up).
- G798 — ἄστρον (ástron, as'-tron): a star — neuter from ἀστήρ; properly, a constellation; put for a single star (natural or artificial):--star.
- G846 — αὐτός (autós, ow-tos'): he, she, it, they, them, same — from the particle (perhaps akin to the base of ἀήρ through the idea of a baffling wind) (backward); the reflexive pronoun self, used (alone or in the comparative ἑαυτοῦ) of the third person , and (with the proper personal pronoun) of the other persons:--her, it(-self), one, the other, (mine) own, said, (self-), the) same, ((him-, my-, thy- )self, (your-)selves, she, that, their(-s), them(-selves), there(-at, - by, -in, -into, -of, -on, -with), they, (these) things, this (man), those, together, very, which. Compare αὑτοῦ.
- G897 — Βαβυλών (Babylṓn, bab-oo-lone'): Babylon — of Hebrew origin (בָּבֶל); Babylon, the capitol of Chaldæa (literally or figuratively (as a type of tyranny)):-- Babylon.
- G1900 — ἐπέκεινα (epékeina, ep-ek'-i-nah): beyond — from ἐπί and (the accusative case plural neuter of) ἐκεῖνος; upon those parts of, i.e. on the further side of:--beyond.
- G2316 — θεός (theós, theh'-os): God, a god — of uncertain affinity; a deity, especially (with ὁ) the supreme Divinity; figuratively, a magistrate; by Hebraism, very:--X exceeding, God, god(-ly, -ward).
- G2532 — καί (kaí, kahee): and, even, also, namely — apparently, a primary particle, having a copulative and sometimes also a cumulative force; and, also, even, so then, too, etc.; often used in connection (or composition) with other particles or small words:--and, also, both, but, even, for, if, or, so, that, then, therefore, when, yet.
- G3351 — μετοικίζω (metoikízō, met-oy-kid'-zo): I transport, cause to migrate — from the same as μετοικεσία; to transfer as a settler or captive, i.e colonize or exile:--carry away, remove into.
- G3434 — Μολόχ (Molóch, mol-okh'): Moloch — of Hebrew origin (מֹלֶךְ); Moloch (i.e. Molek), an idol:--Moloch.
- G3739 — ὅς (hós, hos): who, which, what, that — probably a primary word (or perhaps a form of the article ὁ); the relatively (sometimes demonstrative) pronoun, who, which, what, that:--one, (an-, the) other, some, that, what, which, who(-m, -se), etc. See also οὗ.
- G4160 — ποιέω (poiéō, poy-eh'-o): I do, make — apparently a prolonged form of an obsolete primary; to make or do (in a very wide application, more or less direct):--abide, + agree, appoint, X avenge, + band together, be, bear, + bewray, bring (forth), cast out, cause, commit, + content, continue, deal, + without any delay, (would) do(-ing), execute, exercise, fulfil, gain, give, have, hold, X journeying, keep, + lay wait, + lighten the ship, make, X mean, + none of these things move me, observe, ordain, perform, provide, + have purged, purpose, put, + raising up, X secure, shew, X shoot out, spend, take, tarry, + transgress the law, work, yield. Compare πράσσω.
- G4352 — προσκυνέω (proskynéō, pros-koo-neh'-o): I worship — from πρός and a probable derivative of κύων (meaning to kiss, like a dog licking his master's hand); to fawn or crouch to, i.e. (literally or figuratively) prostrate oneself in homage (do reverence to, adore):--worship.
- G4481 — Ῥεμφάν (Rhemphán, hrem-fan'): Rephan, Saturn — by incorrect transliteration for a word of Hebrew origin (כִּיּוּן); Remphan (i.e. Kijun), an Egyptian idol:--Remphan.
- G4633 — σκηνή (skēnḗ, skay-nay'): a tent, tabernacle — apparently akin to σκεῦος and σκιά; a tent or cloth hut (literally or figuratively):--habitation, tabernacle.
