ἐντολήν |
entolēn | G1785 | N-ASF | to the commandment |
- G759 — ἄρωμα (árōma, ar'-o-mah): spice, perfume — from αἴρω (in the sense of sending off scent); an aromatic:--(sweet) spice.
- G1161 — δέ (dé, deh): but, on the other hand, and — a primary particle (adversative or continuative); but, and, etc.:--also, and, but, moreover, now (often unexpressed in English).
- G1785 — ἐντολή (entolḗ, en-tol-ay'): an ordinance, injunction, command — from ἐντέλλομαι; injunction, i.e. an authoritative prescription:--commandment, precept.
- G2090 — ἑτοιμάζω (hetoimázō, het-oy-mad'-zo): I make ready, prepare — from ἕτοιμος; to prepare:--prepare, provide, make ready. Compare κατασκευάζω.
- G2270 — ἡσυχάζω (hēsycházō, hay-soo-khad'-zo): I rest, am silent, live quietly — from the same as ἡσύχιος; to keep still (intransitively), i.e. refrain from labor, meddlesomeness or speech:--cease, hold peace, be quiet, rest.
- G2532 — καί (kaí, kahee): and, even, also, namely — apparently, a primary particle, having a copulative and sometimes also a cumulative force; and, also, even, so then, too, etc.; often used in connection (or composition) with other particles or small words:--and, also, both, but, even, for, if, or, so, that, then, therefore, when, yet.
- G2596 — κατά (katá, kat-ah'): down from, against, according to, throughout, during — a primary particle; (prepositionally) down (in place or time), in varied relations (according to the case (genitive, dative or accusative) with which it is joined):--about, according as (to), after, against, (when they were) X alone, among, and, X apart, (even, like) as (concerning, pertaining to touching), X aside, at, before, beyond, by, to the charge of, (charita-)bly, concerning, + covered, (dai-)ly, down, every, (+ far more) exceeding, X more excellent, for, from … to, godly, in(-asmuch, divers, every, -to, respect of), … by, after the manner of, + by any means, beyond (out of) measure, X mightily, more, X natural, of (up-)on (X part), out (of every), over against, (+ your) X own, + particularly, so, through(-oughout, -oughout every), thus, (un-)to(-gether, -ward), X uttermost, where(-by), with. In composition it retains many of these applications, and frequently denotes opposition, distribution, or intensity.
- G3303 — μέν (mén, men): truly, indeed — a primary particle; properly, indicative of affirmation or concession (in fact); usually followed by a contrasted clause with δέ (this one, the former, etc.):--even, indeed, so, some, truly, verily. Often compounded with other particles in an intensive or asseverative sense.
- G3464 — μύρον (mýron, moo'-ron): anointing-oil, ointment — probably of foreign origin (compare מֹר, σμύρνα); "myrrh", i.e. (by implication) perfumed oil:--ointment.
- G4521 — σάββατον (sábbaton, sab'-bat-on): the Sabbath, a week — of Hebrew origin (שַׁבָּת); the Sabbath (i.e. Shabbath), or day of weekly repose from secular avocations (also the observance or institution itself); by extension, a se'nnight, i.e. the interval between two Sabbaths; likewise the plural in all the above applications:--sabbath (day), week.
- G5290 — ὑποστρέφω (hypostréphō, hoop-os-tref'-o): I turn back, return — from ὑπό and στρέφω; to turn under (behind), i.e. to return (literally or figuratively):--come again, return (again, back again), turn back (again).
The following Strong's numbers are referenced in the Greek (Textus Receptus, Scrivener 1894) text but were not explicitly tagged in the KJV source:
- G3588 — ὁ (ho, ho): the — the definite article; the (sometimes to be supplied, at others omitted, in English idiom):--the, this, that, one, he, she, it, etc.
