John 10:26

John 10:25 [words of Jesus] John 10:26 (KJV) [words of Jesus] John 10:27 [words of Jesus]
Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me.
But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

Often used in composition, with the same general import; often of completion.

  • G2036 — ἔπω (épō, ep'-o): a primary verb (used only in the definite past tense, the others being borrowed from ἐρέω, ῥέω, and φημί); to speak or say (by word or writing):--answer, bid, bring word, call, command, grant, say (on), speak, tell. Compare λέγω.
  • G2075 — ἐστέ (esté, es-teh'): second person plural present indicative of εἰμί; ye are:--be, have been, belong.

  • G4100 — πιστεύω (pisteúō, pist-yoo'-o): I believe, have faith in — from πίστις; to have faith (in, upon, or with respect to, a person or thing), i.e. credit; by implication, to entrust (especially one's spiritual well-being to Christ):--believe(-r), commit (to trust), put in trust with.
  • G4263 — πρόβατον (próbaton, prob'-at-on): a sheep — probably neuter of a presumed derivative of προβαίνω; something that walks forward (a quadruped), i.e. (specially), a sheep (literally or figuratively):--sheep(-fold).
