Luke 10:15

Luke 10:14 [words of Jesus] Luke 10:15 (KJV) [words of Jesus] Luke 10:16 [words of Jesus]
But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment, than for you.
And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted to heaven, shalt be thrust down to hell.
He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.

  • G2193 — ἕως (héōs, heh'-oce): until, as far as — of uncertain affinity; a conjunction, preposition and adverb of continuance, until (of time and place):--even (until, unto), (as) far (as), how long, (un-)til(-l), (hither-, un-, up) to, while(-s).
  • G2532 — καί (kaí, kahee): and, even, also, namely — apparently, a primary particle, having a copulative and sometimes also a cumulative force; and, also, even, so then, too, etc.; often used in connection (or composition) with other particles or small words:--and, also, both, but, even, for, if, or, so, that, then, therefore, when, yet.
  • G2584 — Καπερναούμ (Kapernaoúm, cap-er-nah-oom'): Capernaum — of Hebrew origin (probably כָּפָר and נַחוּם); Capernaum (i.e. Caphanachum), a place in Palestine:--Capernaum.
  • G2601 — καταβιβάζω (katabibázō, kat-ab-ib-ad'-zo): I bring down, cause to go down — from κατά and a derivative of the base of βάσις; to cause to go down, i.e. precipitate:--bring (thrust) down.
  • G3588 — ὁ (ho, ho): the — the definite article; the (sometimes to be supplied, at others omitted, in English idiom):--the, this, that, one, he, she, it, etc.
  • G3772 — οὐρανός (ouranós, oo-ran-os'): the sky, the heaven — perhaps from the same as ὄρος (through the idea of elevation); the sky; by extension, heaven (as the abode of God); by implication, happiness, power, eternity; specially, the Gospel (Christianity):--air, heaven(-ly), sky.
  • G4771 — σύ (sý, soo): you — the personal pronoun of the second person singular; thou:-- thou. See also σέ, σοί, σοῦ; and for the plural ὑμᾶς, ὑμεῖς, ὑμῖν, ὑμῶν.
  • G5312 — ὑψόω (hypsóō, hoop-so'-o): I lift up, exalt — from ὕψος; to elevate (literally or figuratively):--exalt, lift up.
