Luke 10:6

Luke 10:5 [words of Jesus] Luke 10:6 (KJV) [words of Jesus] Luke 10:7 [words of Jesus]
And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace [be] to this house.
And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again.
And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.

Strong's References
  • G344 — ἀνακάμπτω (anakámptō, an-ak-amp'-to): I return — from ἀνά and κάμπτω; to turn back:--(re-)turn.
  • G846 — αὐτός (autós, ow-tos'): he, she, it, they, them, same — from the particle (perhaps akin to the base of ἀήρ through the idea of a baffling wind) (backward); the reflexive pronoun self, used (alone or in the comparative ἑαυτοῦ) of the third person , and (with the proper personal pronoun) of the other persons:--her, it(-self), one, the other, (mine) own, said, (self-), the) same, ((him-, my-, thy- )self, (your-)selves, she, that, their(-s), them(-selves), there(-at, - by, -in, -into, -of, -on, -with), they, (these) things, this (man), those, together, very, which. Compare αὑτοῦ.
  • G1437 — ἐάν (eán, eh-an'): if — from εἰ and ἄν; a conditional particle; in case that, provided, etc.; often used in connection with other particles to denote indefiniteness or uncertainty:--before, but, except, (and) if, (if) so, (what-, whither-)soever, though, when (-soever), whether (or), to whom, (who-)so(-ever). See μή.
  • G1490 — εἰ δὲ μή(γε) (ei dè mḗ(ge), i deh may'-(gheh)): but if not, else, otherwise — from εἰ, δέ, and μή (sometimes with γέ added); but if not:--(or) else, if (not, otherwise), otherwise.
  • G1515 — εἰρήνη (eirḗnē, i-ray'-nay): peace, peace of mind — probably from a primary verb (to join); peace (literally or figuratively); by implication, prosperity:--one, peace, quietness, rest, + set at one again.
  • G1563 — ἐκεῖ (ekeî, ek-i'): there, yonder, thither — of uncertain affinity; there; by extension, thither:--there, thither(-ward), (to) yonder (place).
  • G1879 — ἐπαναπαύομαι (epanapaúomai, ep-an-ah-pow'-om-ahee): I rest upon, rely on, trust in — middle voice from ἐπί and ἀναπαύω; to settle on; literally (remain) or figuratively (rely):--rest in (upon).
  • G1909 — ἐπί (epí, ep-ee'): on, to, against, on the basis of, at — a primary preposition; properly, meaning superimposition (of time, place, order, etc.), as a relation of distribution (with the genitive case), i.e. over, upon, etc.; of rest (with the dative case) at, on, etc.; of direction (with the accusative case) towards, upon, etc.:--about (the times), above, after, against, among, as long as (touching), at, beside, X have charge of, (be-, (where-))fore, in (a place, as much as, the time of, -to), (because) of, (up-)on (behalf of), over, (by, for) the space of, through(-out), (un-)to(-ward), with. In compounds it retains essentially the same import, at, upon, etc. (literally or figuratively).
  • G2532 — καί (kaí, kahee): and, even, also, namely — apparently, a primary particle, having a copulative and sometimes also a cumulative force; and, also, even, so then, too, etc.; often used in connection (or composition) with other particles or small words:--and, also, both, but, even, for, if, or, so, that, then, therefore, when, yet.
  • G3303 — μέν (mén, men): truly, indeed — a primary particle; properly, indicative of affirmation or concession (in fact); usually followed by a contrasted clause with δέ (this one, the former, etc.):--even, indeed, so, some, truly, verily. Often compounded with other particles in an intensive or asseverative sense.
  • G5207 — υἱός (huiós, hwee-os'): a son, descendent — apparently a primary word; a "son" (sometimes of animals), used very widely of immediate, remote or figuratively, kinship:--child, foal, son.
  • G5209 — ὑμᾶς (hymâs, hoo-mas'): accusative case of ὑμεῖς; you (as the objective of a verb or preposition):--ye, you (+ -ward), your (+ own).
  • G5216 — ὑμῶν (hymōn, hoo-mone'): genitive case of ὑμεῖς; of (from or concerning) you:--ye, you, your (own, -selves).

  • G3361 — μή (mḗ, may): not, lest — a primary particle of qualified negation (whereas οὐ expresses an absolute denial); (adverb) not, (conjunction) lest; also (as an interrogative implying a negative answer (whereas οὐ expects an affirmative one)) whether:--any but (that), X forbear, + God forbid, + lack, lest, neither, never, no (X wise in), none, nor, (can-)not, nothing, that not, un(-taken), without.
