|---|---|---|
Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
|
For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
|
And not only [they], but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, [to wit], the redemption of our body.

Compare ὀπτάνομαι.
- G2532 — καί (kaí, kahee): and, even, also, namely — apparently, a primary particle, having a copulative and sometimes also a cumulative force; and, also, even, so then, too, etc.; often used in connection (or composition) with other particles or small words:--and, also, both, but, even, for, if, or, so, that, then, therefore, when, yet.
- G2937 — κτίσις (ktísis, ktis'-is): creation, creature, institution — from κτίζω; original formation (properly, the act; by implication, the thing, literally or figuratively):--building, creation, creature, ordinance.
- G3568 — νῦν (nŷn, noon): now, already, at present — a primary particle of present time; "now" (as adverb of date, a transition or emphasis); also as noun or adjective present or immediate:--henceforth, + hereafter, of late, soon, present, this (time). See also τανῦν, νυνί.
- G3754 — ὅτι (hóti, hot'-ee): that, since, because — neuter of ὅστις as conjunction; demonstrative, that (sometimes redundant); causative, because:--as concerning that, as though, because (that), for (that), how (that), (in) that, though, why.
- G3956 — πᾶς (pâs, pas): all, the whole, every kind of — including all the forms of declension; apparently a primary word; all, any, every, the whole:--all (manner of, means), alway(-s), any (one), X daily, + ever, every (one, way), as many as, + no(-thing), X thoroughly, whatsoever, whole, whosoever.
- G4944 — συνωδίνω (synōdínō, soon-o-dee'-no): I am in travail together — from σύν and ὠδίνω; to have (parturition) pangs in company (concert, simultaneously) with, i.e. (figuratively) to sympathize (in expectation of relief from suffering):--travail in pain together.
- G4959 — συστενάζω (systenázō, soos-ten-ad'-zo): I groan together — from σύν and στενάζω; to moan jointly, i.e. (figuratively) experience a common calamity:--groan together.
The following Strong's numbers are referenced in the Greek (Textus Receptus, Scrivener 1894) text but were not explicitly tagged in the KJV source:
- G3588 — ὁ (ho, ho): the — the definite article; the (sometimes to be supplied, at others omitted, in English idiom):--the, this, that, one, he, she, it, etc.
