|---|---|---|
Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called?
|
If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:
|
But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.

- G25 — ἀγαπάω (agapáō, ag-ap-ah'-o): I love — perhaps from (much) (or compare עֲגַב); to love (in a social or moral sense):--(be-)love(-ed). Compare φιλέω.
- G937 — βασιλικός (basilikós, bas-il-ee-kos'): connected with a king, royal, regal — from βασιλεύς; regal (in relation), i.e. (literally) belonging to (or befitting) the sovereign (as land, dress, or a courtier), or (figuratively) preeminent:--king's, nobleman, royal.
- G1124 — γραφή (graphḗ, graf-ay'): a writing, passage of scripture, the scriptures — from γράφω; a document, i.e. holy Writ (or its contents or a statement in it):--scripture.
- G1487 — εἰ (ei, i): if — a primary particle of conditionality; if, whether, that, etc.:--forasmuch as, if, that, (al-)though, whether. Often used in connection or composition with other particles, especially as in εἴγε, εἰ δὲ μή(γε), εἰ καί, εἰ μή, εἰ μή τι, εἴ περ, εἴ πως, εἴ τις, ἐκ. See also ἐάν.
- G2573 — καλῶς (kalōs, kal-oce'): well, nobly, rightly — adverb from καλός; well (usually morally):--(in a) good (place), honestly, + recover, (full) well.
- G2596 — κατά (katá, kat-ah'): down from, against, according to, throughout, during — a primary particle; (prepositionally) down (in place or time), in varied relations (according to the case (genitive, dative or accusative) with which it is joined):--about, according as (to), after, against, (when they were) X alone, among, and, X apart, (even, like) as (concerning, pertaining to touching), X aside, at, before, beyond, by, to the charge of, (charita-)bly, concerning, + covered, (dai-)ly, down, every, (+ far more) exceeding, X more excellent, for, from … to, godly, in(-asmuch, divers, every, -to, respect of), … by, after the manner of, + by any means, beyond (out of) measure, X mightily, more, X natural, of (up-)on (X part), out (of every), over against, (+ your) X own, + particularly, so, through(-oughout, -oughout every), thus, (un-)to(-gether, -ward), X uttermost, where(-by), with. In composition it retains many of these applications, and frequently denotes opposition, distribution, or intensity.
- G3305 — μέντοι (méntoi, men'-toy): indeed, yet, however — from μέν and τοί; indeed though, i.e. however:--also, but, howbeit, nevertheless, yet.
- G3551 — νόμος (nómos, nom'-os): a law, the Mosaic Law — from a primary (to parcel out, especially food or grazing to animals); law (through the idea of prescriptive usage), genitive case (regulation), specially, (of Moses (including the volume); also of the Gospel), or figuratively (a principle):--law.
- G4139 — πλησίον (plēsíon, play-see'-on): near, nearby, a neighbor — neuter of a derivative of (near); (adverbially) close by; as noun, a neighbor, i.e. fellow (as man, countryman, Christian or friend):--near, neighbour.
- G4160 — ποιέω (poiéō, poy-eh'-o): I do, make — apparently a prolonged form of an obsolete primary; to make or do (in a very wide application, more or less direct):--abide, + agree, appoint, X avenge, + band together, be, bear, + bewray, bring (forth), cast out, cause, commit, + content, continue, deal, + without any delay, (would) do(-ing), execute, exercise, fulfil, gain, give, have, hold, X journeying, keep, + lay wait, + lighten the ship, make, X mean, + none of these things move me, observe, ordain, perform, provide, + have purged, purpose, put, + raising up, X secure, shew, X shoot out, spend, take, tarry, + transgress the law, work, yield. - G4675 — σοῦ (soû, soo): genitive case of σύ; of thee, thy:--X home, thee, thine (own), thou, thy.
