John 6:57

John 6:56 [words of Jesus] John 6:57 (KJV) [words of Jesus] John 6:58 [words of Jesus]
He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.
As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.
This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.

Strong's References
  • G649 — ἀποστέλλω (apostéllō, ap-os-tel'-lo): I send forth, send, send away, dismiss — from ἀπό and στέλλω; set apart, i.e. (by implication) to send out (properly, on a mission) literally or figuratively:--put in, send (away, forth, out), set (at liberty).
  • G1223 — διά (diá, dee-ah'): through, on account of — a primary preposition denoting the channel of an act; through (in very wide applications, local, causal, or occasional):--after, always, among, at, to avoid, because of (that), briefly, by, for (cause) … fore, from, in, by occasion of, of, by reason of, for sake, that, thereby, therefore, X though, through(-out), to, wherefore, with (-in). In composition it retains the same general importance.
  • G1691 — ἐμέ (emé, em-eh'): a prolonged form of μέ; me:--I, me, my(-self).
  • G2198 — ζάω (záō, dzah'-o): I live — a primary verb; to live (literally or figuratively):--life(-time), (a-)live(-ly), quick.
  • G2504 — κἀγώ (kagṓ, kag-o'): I also, I too — from καί and ἐγώ; so also the dative case , and accusative case and (or also, even, etc.) I, (to) me:--(and, even, even so, so) I (also, in like wise), both me, me also.
  • G2531 — καθώς (kathṓs, kath-oce'): just as, as — from κατά and ὡς; just (or inasmuch) as, that:--according to, (according, even) as, how, when.
  • G2532 — καί (kaí, kahee): and, even, also, namely — apparently, a primary particle, having a copulative and sometimes also a cumulative force; and, also, even, so then, too, etc.; often used in connection (or composition) with other particles or small words:--and, also, both, but, even, for, if, or, so, that, then, therefore, when, yet.
  • G2548 — κἀκεῖνος (kakeînos, kak-i'-nos): and he, she, it, and that — from καί and ἐκεῖνος; likewise that (or those):--and him (other, them), even he, him also, them (also), (and) they.
  • G3165 — μέ (mé, meh): a shorter (and probably original) form of ἐμέ; me:--I, me, my.
  • G3962 — πατήρ (patḗr, pat-ayr'): father, Father, ancestor — apparently a primary word; a "father" (literally or figuratively, near or more remote):--father, parent.
  • G5176 — τρώγω (trṓgō, tro'-go): I eat — probably strengthened from a collateral form of the base of τραῦμα and τρίβος through the idea of corrosion or wear; or perhaps rather of a base of τρυγών and τρίζω through the idea of a craunching sound; to gnaw or chew, i.e. (generally) to eat:--eat.

The following Strong's numbers are referenced in the Greek (Textus Receptus, Scrivener 1894) text but were not explicitly tagged in the KJV source:

  • G3588 — ὁ (ho, ho): the — the definite article; the (sometimes to be supplied, at others omitted, in English idiom):--the, this, that, one, he, she, it, etc.
