2 Corinthians 11:23

2 Corinthians 11:22 2 Corinthians 11:23 (KJV) 2 Corinthians 11:24
Are they Hebrews? so [am] I. Are they Israelites? so [am] I. Are they the seed of Abraham? so [am] I.
Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I [am] more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft.
Of the Jews five times received I forty [stripes] save one.

Strong's References
  • G1249 — διάκονος (diákonos, dee-ak'-on-os): a waiter, servant, administrator — probably from an obsolete (to run on errands; compare διώκω); an attendant, i.e. (genitive case) a waiter (at table or in other menial duties); specially, a Christian teacher and pastor (technically, a deacon or deaconess):--deacon, minister, servant.
  • G1473 — ἐγώ (egṓ, eg-o'): I — a primary pronoun of the first person I (only expressed when emphatic):--I, me. For the other cases and the plural see ἐμέ, ἐμοί, ἐμοῦ, ἡμᾶς, ἡμεῖς, ἡμῖν, ἡμῶν, etc.
  • G1526 — εἰσί (eisí, i-see'): 3rd person plural present indicative of εἰμί; they are:--agree, are, be, dure, X is, were.
  • G1722 — ἐν (en, en): in, on, among — a primary preposition denoting (fixed) position (in place, time or state), and (by implication) instrumentality (medially or constructively), i.e. a relation of rest (intermediate between εἰς and ἐκ); "in," at, (up-)on, by, etc.:--about, after, against, + almost, X altogether, among, X as, at, before, between, (here-)by (+ all means), for (… sake of), + give self wholly to, (here-)in(-to, -wardly), X mightily, (because) of, (up-)on, (open-)ly, X outwardly, one, X quickly, X shortly, (speedi-)ly, X that, X there(-in, -on), through(-out), (un-)to(-ward), under, when, where(-with), while, with(-in). Often used in compounds, with substantially the same import; rarely with verbs of motion, and then not to indicate direction, except (elliptically) by a separate (and different) preposition.
  • G2288 — θάνατος (thánatos, than'-at-os): death — from θνήσκω; (properly, an adjective used as a noun) death (literally or figuratively):--X deadly, (be…) death.
  • G2873 — κόπος (kópos, kop'-os): trouble, toil, labor — from κόπτω; a cut, i.e. (by analogy) toil (as reducing the strength), literally or figuratively; by implication, pains:--labour, + trouble, weariness.
  • G2980 — λαλέω (laléō, lal-eh'-o): I speak, say — a prolonged form of an otherwise obsolete verb; to talk, i.e. utter words:--preach, say, speak (after), talk, tell, utter. Compare λέγω.
  • G3912 — παραφρονέω (paraphronéō, par-af-ron-eh'-o): I am out of my senses — from παρά and φρονέω; to misthink, i.e. be insane (silly):--as a fool.
  • G4056 — περισσοτέρως (perissotérōs, per-is-sot-er'-oce): adverb from περισσότερος; more superabundantly:--more abundant(-ly), X the more earnest, (more) exceedingly, more frequent, much more, the rather.
  • G4127 — πληγή (plēgḗ, play-gay'): a blow, stripe, wound — from πλήσσω; a stroke; by implication, a wound; figuratively, a calamity:--plague, stripe, wound(-ed).
  • G4178 — πολλάκις (pollákis, pol-lak'-is): many times, often — multiplicative adverb from πολύς; many times, i.e. frequently:--oft(-en, -entimes, -times).
  • G5228 — ὑπέρ (hypér, hoop-er'): in behalf of, above — a primary preposition; "over", i.e. (with the genitive case) of place, above, beyond, across, or causal, for the sake of, instead, regarding; with the accusative case superior to, more than:--(+ exceeding, abundantly) above, in (on) behalf of, beyond, by, + very chiefest, concerning, exceeding (above, -ly), for, + very highly, more (than), of, over, on the part of, for sake of, in stead, than, to(-ward), very. In the comparative, it retains many of the above applications.
  • G5234 — ὑπερβαλλόντως (hyperballóntōs, hoop-er-bal-lon'-toce): beyond measure — adverb from present participle active of ὑπερβάλλω; excessively:--beyond measure.
  • G5438 — φυλακή (phylakḗ, foo-lak-ay'): a watching, guard, prison, imprisonment — from φυλάσσω; a guarding or (concretely, guard), the act, the person; figuratively, the place, the condition, or (specially), the time (as a division of day or night), literally or figuratively:--cage, hold, (im-)prison(-ment), ward, watch.
  • G5547 — Χριστός (Christós, khris-tos'): anointed, the Messiah, the Christ — from χρίω; anointed, i.e. the Messiah, an epithet of Jesus:--Christ.
