Hebrews 10:23

Hebrews 10:22 Hebrews 10:23 (KJV) Hebrews 10:24
Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
Let us hold fast the profession of [our] faith without wavering; (for he [is] faithful that promised;)
And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:

Strong's References
  • G186 — ἀκλινής (aklinḗs, ak-lee-nace'): unbent, unyielding, resolute — from Α (as a negative particle) and κλίνω; not leaning, i.e. (figuratively) firm:--without wavering.
  • G1063 — γάρ (gár, gar): for — a primary particle; properly, assigning a reason (used in argument, explanation or intensification; often with other particles):--and, as, because (that), but, even, for, indeed, no doubt, seeing, then, therefore, verily, what, why, yet.
  • G1680 — ἐλπίς (elpís, el-pece'): hope, expectation — from a primary (to anticipate, usually with pleasure); expectation (abstractly or concretely) or confidence:--faith, hope.
  • G1861 — ἐπαγγέλλω (epangéllō, ep-ang-el'-lo): I promise, profess — from ἐπί and the base of ἄγγελος; to announce upon (reflexively), i.e. (by implication) to engage to do something, to assert something respecting oneself:--profess, (make) promise.
  • G2722 — κατέχω (katéchō, kat-ekh'-o): I hold fast, bind, restrain — from κατά and ἔχω; to hold down (fast), in various applications (literally or figuratively):--have, hold (fast), keep (in memory), let, X make toward, possess, retain, seize on, stay, take, withhold.
  • G3671 — ὁμολογία (homología, hom-ol-og-ee'-ah): a profession, confession — from the same as ὁμολογέω; acknowledgment:--con- (pro-)fession, professed.
  • G4103 — πιστός (pistós, pis-tos'): trustworthy, faithful, believing — from πείθω; objectively, trustworthy; subjectively, trustful:--believe(-ing, -r), faithful(-ly), sure, true.

The following Strong's numbers are referenced in the Greek (Textus Receptus, Scrivener 1894) text but were not explicitly tagged in the KJV source:

  • G3588 — ὁ (ho, ho): the — the definite article; the (sometimes to be supplied, at others omitted, in English idiom):--the, this, that, one, he, she, it, etc.
