Isaiah 22:5

Isaiah 22:4 Isaiah 22:5 (KJV) Isaiah 22:6
Therefore said I, Look away from me; I will weep bitterly, labour not to comfort me, because of the spoiling of the daughter of my people.
For [it is] a day of trouble, and of treading down, and of perplexity by the Lord GOD of hosts in the valley of vision, breaking down the walls, and of crying to the mountains.
And Elam bare the quiver with chariots of men [and] horsemen, and Kir uncovered the shield.

  • H3069 — יְהֹוִה (Yᵉhôvih, yeh-ho-vee'): a variation of יְהֹוָה (used after אֲדֹנָי, and pronounced by Jews as אֱלֹהִים, in order to prevent the repetition of the same sound, since they elsewhere pronounce יְהֹוָה as אֲדֹנָי); {YHWH}; God.
  • H3117 — יוֹם (yôwm, yome): from an unused root meaning to be hot; a day (as the warm hours), whether literal (from sunrise to sunset, or from one sunset to the next), or figurative (a space of time defined by an associated term), (often used adverb); age, [phrase] always, [phrase] chronicals, continually(-ance), daily, ((birth-), each, to) day, (now a, two) days (agone), [phrase] elder, [idiom] end, [phrase] evening, [phrase] (for) ever(-lasting, -more), [idiom] full, life, as (so) long as (... live), (even) now, [phrase] old, [phrase] outlived, [phrase] perpetually, presently, [phrase] remaineth, [idiom] required, season, [idiom] since, space, then, (process of) time, [phrase] as at other times, [phrase] in trouble, weather, (as) when, (a, the, within a) while (that), [idiom] whole ([phrase] age), (full) year(-ly), [phrase] younger.

  • H4001 — מְבוּסָה (mᵉbûwçâh, meb-oo-saw'): from בּוּס; a trampling; treading (trodden) down (under foot).
  • H4103 — מְהוּמָה (mᵉhûwmâh, meh-hoo-maw'): from הוּם; confusion or uproar; destruction, discomfiture, trouble, tumult, vexation, vexed.
  • H6635 — צָבָא (tsâbâʼ, tsaw-baw'): or (feminine) צְבָאָה; from צָבָא; a mass of persons (or figuratively, things), especially reg. organized forwar (an army); by implication, a campaign, literally or figuratively (specifically, hardship, worship); appointed time, ([phrase]) army, ([phrase]) battle, company, host, service, soldiers, waiting upon, war(-fare).
  • H6979 — קוּר (qûwr, koor): a primitive root; also denominative from קִיר; to trench; by implication, to throw forth; to wall up, whether literal (to build a wall) or figurative (to estop); break down, cast out, destroy, dig.
