2 Peter 3:1 2 Peter 3:2 (KJV) 2 Peter 3:3
This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in [both] which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:
That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:
Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,

Strong's References
  • G40 — ἅγιος (hágios, hag'-ee-os): set apart, holy, sacred — from (an awful thing) (compare ἁγνός, θάλπω); sacred (physically, pure, morally blameless or religious, ceremonially, consecrated):--(most) holy (one, thing), saint.
  • G652 — ἀπόστολος (apóstolos, ap-os'-tol-os): an apostle, a messenger, an envoy, a delegate — from ἀποστέλλω; a delegate; specially, an ambassador of the Gospel; officially a commissioner of Christ ("apostle") (with miraculous powers):--apostle, messenger, he that is sent.
  • G1785 — ἐντολή (entolḗ, en-tol-ay'): an ordinance, injunction, command — from ἐντέλλομαι; injunction, i.e. an authoritative prescription:--commandment, precept.
  • G2257 — ἡμῶν (hēmōn, hay-mone'): genitive case plural of ἐγώ; of (or from) us:--our (company), us, we.
  • G2532 — καί (kaí, kahee): and, even, also, namely — apparently, a primary particle, having a copulative and sometimes also a cumulative force; and, also, even, so then, too, etc.; often used in connection (or composition) with other particles or small words:--and, also, both, but, even, for, if, or, so, that, then, therefore, when, yet.
  • G2962 — κύριος (kýrios, koo'-ree-os): lord, Lord, master, sir — from (supremacy); supreme in authority, i.e. (as noun) controller; by implication, Master (as a respectful title):-- God, Lord, master, Sir.
  • G3415 — μνάομαι (mnáomai, mnah'-om-ahee): I remember, recollect — middle voice of a derivative of μένω or perhaps of the base of μασσάομαι (through the idea of fixture in the mind or of mental grasp); to bear in mind, i.e. recollect; by implication, to reward or punish:--be mindful, remember, come (have) in remembrance. Compare μιμνήσκω.
  • G4280 — προερέω (proeréō, pro-er-eh'-o): I say already, predict — from πρό and ἐρέω; used as alternate of προέπω; to say already, predict:--foretell, say (speak, tell) before.
  • G4396 — προφήτης (prophḗtēs, prof-ay'-tace): a prophet, poet — from a compound of πρό and φημί; a foreteller ("prophet"); by analogy, an inspired speaker; by extension, a poet:--prophet.
  • G4487 — ῥῆμα (rhēma, hray'-mah): a thing spoken — from ῥέω; an utterance (individually, collectively or specially),; by implication, a matter or topic (especially of narration, command or dispute); with a negative naught whatever:--+ evil, + nothing, saying, word.
  • G4990 — σωτήρ (sōtḗr, so-tare'): a savior, deliverer, preserver — from σώζω; a deliverer, i.e. God or Christ:--saviour.
  • G5259 — ὑπό (hypó, hoop-o'): by, under, about — a primary preposition; under, i.e. (with the genitive case) of place (beneath), or with verbs (the agency or means, through); (with the accusative case) of place (whither (underneath) or where (below) or time (when (at)):--among, by, from, in, of, under, with. In the comparative, it retains the same general applications, especially of inferior position or condition, and specially, covertly or moderately.

The following Strong's numbers are referenced in the Greek (Textus Receptus, Scrivener 1894) text but were not explicitly tagged in the KJV source:

  • G3588 — ὁ (ho, ho): the — the definite article; the (sometimes to be supplied, at others omitted, in English idiom):--the, this, that, one, he, she, it, etc.
