Behold, he shall come up as clouds, and his chariots [shall be] as a whirlwind: his horses are swifter than eagles. Woe unto us! for we are spoiled.

O Jerusalem, wash thine heart from wickedness, that thou mayest be saved. How long shall thy vain thoughts lodge within thee?

- H188 — אוֹי (ʼôwy, o'-ee): probably from אָוָה (in the sense of crying out after); lamentation; also interjectionally Oh!; alas, woe.
- H4818 — מֶרְכָּבָה (merkâbâh, mer-kaw-baw'): feminine of מֶרְכָּב; a chariot; chariot. See also בֵּית הַמַּרְכָּבוֹת.
- H5404 — נֶשֶׁר (nesher, neh'-sher): from an unused root meaning to lacerate; the eagle (or other large bird of prey); eagle.
