1 Corinthians 14:1

1 Corinthians 13:13 1 Corinthians 14:1 (KJV) 1 Corinthians 14:2
And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these [is] charity.
Follow after charity, and desire spiritual [gifts], but rather that ye may prophesy.
For he that speaketh in an [unknown] tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth [him]; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.

  • G4152 — πνευματικός (pneumatikós, pnyoo-mat-ik-os'): spiritual — from πνεῦμα; non-carnal, i.e. (humanly) ethereal (as opposed to gross), or (dæmoniacally) a spirit (concretely), or (divinely) supernatural, regenerate, religious:--spiritual. Compare ψυχικός.
  • G4395 — προφητεύω (prophēteúō, prof-ate-yoo'-o): I foretell, prophesy — from προφήτης; to foretell events, divine, speak under inspiration, exercise the prophetic office:--prophesy.
