Luke 12:33
| ← Luke 12:32 [words of Jesus] | Luke 12:33 (KJV) [words of Jesus] | Luke 12:34 [words of Jesus] → |
|---|---|---|
Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
|
Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.
|
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

- G413 — ἀνέκλειπτος (anékleiptos, an-ek'-lipe-tos): unfailing — from Α (as a negative particle) and a presumed derivative of ἐκλείπω; not left out, i.e. (by implication) inexhaustible:--that faileth not.
- G905 — βαλάντιον (balántion, bal-an'-tee-on): a purse, money-bag — probably remotely from βάλλω (as a depository); a pouch (for money):--bag, purse.
- G1311 — διαφθείρω (diaphtheírō, dee-af-thi'-ro): I destroy, waste, corrupt — from διαβάλλω and φθείρω; to rot thoroughly, i.e. (by implication) to ruin (passively, decay utterly, figuratively, pervert):--corrupt, destroy, perish.
- G1325 — δίδωμι (dídōmi, did'-o-mee): I offer, give — a prolonged form of a primary verb (which is used as an alternative in most of the tenses); to give (used in a very wide application, properly, or by implication, literally or figuratively; greatly modified by the connection):--adventure, bestow, bring forth, commit, deliver (up), give, grant, hinder, make, minister, number, offer, have power, put, receive, set, shew, smite (+ with the hand), strike (+ with the palm of the hand), suffer, take, utter, yield.
- G1438 — ἑαυτοῦ (heautoû, heh-ow-too'): himself, herself, itself — from a reflexive pronoun otherwise obsolete and the genitive case (dative case or accusative case) of αὐτός; him- (her-, it-, them-, also (in conjunction with the personal pronoun of the other persons) my-, thy-, our-, your-) self (selves), etc.:--alone, her (own, -self), (he) himself, his (own), itself, one (to) another, our (thine) own(-selves), + that she had, their (own, own selves), (of) them(-selves), they, thyself, you, your (own, own conceits, own selves, -selves).
- G1448 — ἐγγίζω (engízō, eng-id'-zo): I come near, approach — from ἐγγύς; to make near, i.e. (reflexively) approach:--approach, be at hand, come (draw) near, be (come, draw) nigh.
- G1654 — ἐλεημοσύνη (eleēmosýnē, el-eh-ay-mos-oo'-nay): alms-giving, charity — from ἔλεος; compassionateness, i.e. (as exercised towards the poor) beneficence, or (concretely) a benefaction:--alms(-deeds).
- G1722 — ἐν (en, en): in, on, among — a primary preposition denoting (fixed) position (in place, time or state), and (by implication) instrumentality (medially or constructively), i.e. a relation of rest (intermediate between εἰς and ἐκ); "in," at, (up-)on, by, etc.:--about, after, against, + almost, X altogether, among, X as, at, before, between, (here-)by (+ all means), for (… sake of), + give self wholly to, (here-)in(-to, -wardly), X mightily, (because) of, (up-)on, (open-)ly, X outwardly, one, X quickly, X shortly, (speedi-)ly, X that, X there(-in, -on), through(-out), (un-)to(-ward), under, when, where(-with), while, with(-in). Often used in compounds, with substantially the same import; rarely with verbs of motion, and then not to indicate direction, except (elliptically) by a separate (and different) preposition.
- G2344 — θησαυρός (thēsaurós, thay-sow-ros'): a treasure, store — from τίθημι; a deposit, i.e. wealth (literally or figuratively):--treasure.
- G2532 — καί (kaí, kahee): and, even, also, namely — apparently, a primary particle, having a copulative and sometimes also a cumulative force; and, also, even, so then, too, etc.; often used in connection (or composition) with other particles or small words:--and, also, both, but, even, for, if, or, so, that, then, therefore, when, yet.

- G3361 — μή (mḗ, may): not, lest — a primary particle of qualified negation (whereas οὐ expresses an absolute denial); (adverb) not, (conjunction) lest; also (as an interrogative implying a negative answer (whereas οὐ expects an affirmative one)) whether:--any but (that), X forbear, + God forbid, + lack, lest, neither, never, no (X wise in), none, nor, (can-)not, nothing, that not, un(-taken), without. Often used in compounds in substantially the same relations. See also ἐὰν μή, ἵνα μή, οὐ μή, μῆκος, μηκύνω, μήν, μὴ οὐκ.
- G3699 — ὅπου (hópou, hop'-oo): where, whither — from ὅς and πού; what(-ever) where, i.e. at whichever spot:--in what place, where(-as, -soever), whither (+ soever).
- G3756 — οὐ (ou, oo): no, not — a primary word; the absolute negative (compare μή) adverb; no or not:--+ long, nay, neither, never, no (X man), none, (can-)not, + nothing, + special, un(-worthy), when, + without, + yet but. See also οὐ μή, μῆκος.

- G3772 — οὐρανός (ouranós, oo-ran-os'): the sky, the heaven — perhaps from the same as ὄρος (through the idea of elevation); the sky; by extension, heaven (as the abode of God); by implication, happiness, power, eternity; specially, the Gospel (Christianity):--air, heaven(-ly), sky.
