Luke 6:38

Luke 6:37 [words of Jesus] Luke 6:38 (KJV) [words of Jesus] Luke 6:39 [words of Jesus]
Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?

Strong's References
  • G488 — ἀντιμετρέω (antimetréō, an-tee-met-reh'-o): I measure in return, give equivalent measure — from ἀντί and μετρέω; to mete in return:--measure again.
  • G846 — αὐτός (autós, ow-tos'): he, she, it, they, them, same — from the particle (perhaps akin to the base of ἀήρ through the idea of a baffling wind) (backward); the reflexive pronoun self, used (alone or in the comparative ἑαυτοῦ) of the third person , and (with the proper personal pronoun) of the other persons:--her, it(-self), one, the other, (mine) own, said, (self-), the) same, ((him-, my-, thy- )self, (your-)selves, she, that, their(-s), them(-selves), there(-at, - by, -in, -into, -of, -on, -with), they, (these) things, this (man), those, together, very, which. Compare αὑτοῦ.
  • G1063 — γάρ (gár, gar): for — a primary particle; properly, assigning a reason (used in argument, explanation or intensification; often with other particles):--and, as, because (that), but, even, for, indeed, no doubt, seeing, then, therefore, verily, what, why, yet.
  • G1325 — δίδωμι (dídōmi, did'-o-mee): I offer, give — a prolonged form of a primary verb (which is used as an alternative in most of the tenses); to give (used in a very wide application, properly, or by implication, literally or figuratively; greatly modified by the connection):--adventure, bestow, bring forth, commit, deliver (up), give, grant, hinder, make, minister, number, offer, have power, put, receive, set, shew, smite (+ with the hand), strike (+ with the palm of the hand), suffer, take, utter, yield.
  • G1519 — εἰς (eis, ice): into, in, among, till, for — a primary preposition; to or into (indicating the point reached or entered), of place, time, or (figuratively) purpose (result, etc.); also in adverbial phrases:--(abundant-)ly, against, among, as, at, (back-)ward, before, by, concerning, + continual, + far more exceeding, for (intent, purpose), fore, + forth, in (among, at, unto, -so much that, -to), to the intent that, + of one mind, + never, of, (up-)on, + perish, + set at one again, (so) that, therefore(-unto), throughout, til, to (be, the end, -ward), (here-)until(-to), …ward, (where-)fore, with. Often used in composition with the same general import, but only with verbs (etc.) expressing motion (literally or figuratively).
  • G2532 — καί (kaí, kahee): and, even, also, namely — apparently, a primary particle, having a copulative and sometimes also a cumulative force; and, also, even, so then, too, etc.; often used in connection (or composition) with other particles or small words:--and, also, both, but, even, for, if, or, so, that, then, therefore, when, yet.
  • G2570 — καλός (kalós, kal-os'): beautiful, good, worthy — of uncertain affinity; properly, beautiful, but chiefly (figuratively) good (literally or morally), i.e. valuable or virtuous (for appearance or use, and thus distinguished from ἀγαθός, which is properly intrinsic):--X better, fair, good(-ly), honest, meet, well, worthy.
  • G2859 — κόλπος (kólpos, kol'-pos): bosom, bosom of a garment, a bay, gulf — apparently a primary word; the bosom; by analogy, a bay:--bosom, creek.
  • G3354 — μετρέω (metréō, met-reh'-o): I measure, estimate — from μέτρον; to measure (i.e. ascertain in size by a fixed standard); by implication, to admeasure (i.e. allot by rule):--figuratively, to estimate:--measure, mete.
  • G3358 — μέτρον (métron, met'-ron): a measure, measuring rod — an apparently primary word; a measure ("metre"), literally or figuratively; by implication, a limited portion (degree):-- measure.
  • G3739 — ὅς (hós, hos): who, which, what, that — probably a primary word (or perhaps a form of the article ὁ); the relatively (sometimes demonstrative) pronoun, who, which, what, that:--one, (an-, the) other, some, that, what, which, who(-m, -se), etc. See also οὗ.
  • G4085 — πιέζω (piézō, pee-ed'-zo): I press down — another form for πιάζω; to pack:--press down.
  • G4531 — σαλεύω (saleúō, sal-yoo'-o): I shake, excite — from σάλος; to waver, i.e. agitate, rock, topple or (by implication) destroy; figuratively, to disturb, incite:--move, shake (together), which can(-not) be shaken, stir up.
  • G5213 — ὑμῖν (hymîn, hoo-min'): irregular dative case of ὑμεῖς; to (with or by) you:--ye, you, your(-selves).
  • G5216 — ὑμῶν (hymōn, hoo-mone'): genitive case of ὑμεῖς; of (from or concerning) you:--ye, you, your (own, -selves).
  • G5240 — ὑπερεκχύνω (hyperekchýnō, hoop-er-ek-khoo'-no): I pour out so that it overflows — from ὑπέρ and the alternate form of ἐκχέω; to pour out over, i.e. (passively) to overflow:--run over.

The following Strong's numbers are referenced in the Greek (Textus Receptus, Scrivener 1894) text but were not explicitly tagged in the KJV source:

  • G3588 — ὁ (ho, ho): the — the definite article; the (sometimes to be supplied, at others omitted, in English idiom):--the, this, that, one, he, she, it, etc.
