And Crispus, the chief ruler of the synagogue, believed on the Lord with all his house; and many of the Corinthians hearing believed, and were baptized.

- G191 — ἀκούω (akoúō, ak-oo'-o): I hear, listen — a primary verb; to hear (in various senses):--give (in the) audience (of), come (to the ears), (shall) hear(-er, -ken), be noised, be reported, understand.
- G752 — ἀρχισυνάγωγος (archisynágōgos, ar-khee-soon-ag'-o-gos): a leader of the synagogue — from ἀρχή and συναγωγή; director of the synagogue services:--(chief) ruler of the synagogue.
