1 Corinthians 4:11

1 Corinthians 4:10 1 Corinthians 4:11 (KJV) 1 Corinthians 4:12
We [are] fools for Christ's sake, but ye [are] wise in Christ; we [are] weak, but ye [are] strong; ye [are] honourable, but we [are] despised.
Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwellingplace;
And labour, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it:

Strong's References
  • G737 — ἄρτι (árti, ar'-tee): now, just now — adverb from a derivative of αἴρω (compare ἄρτος) through the idea of suspension; just now:--this day (hour), hence(-forth), here(-after), hither(-to), (even) now, (this) present.
  • G790 — ἀστατέω (astatéō, as-tat-eh'-o): I am unsettled, have no fixed abode — from Α (as a negative particle) and a derivative of ἵστημι; to be non-stationary, i.e. (figuratively) homeless:--have no certain dwelling-place.
  • G891 — ἄχρι (áchri, akh'-ree): as far as, up to, until — akin to ἄκρον (through the idea of a terminus); (of time) until or (of place) up to:--as far as, for, in(-to), till, (even, un-)to, until, while. Compare μέχρι.
  • G1130 — γυμνητεύω (gymnēteúō, goom-nayt-yoo'-o): I am poorly clad — from a derivative of γυμνός; to strip, i.e. (reflexively) go poorly clad:--be naked.
  • G1372 — διψάω (dipsáō, dip-sah'-o): I thirst for, desire earnestly — from a variation of δίψος; to thirst for (literally or figuratively):--(be, be a-)thirst(-y).
  • G2532 — καί (kaí, kahee): and, even, also, namely — apparently, a primary particle, having a copulative and sometimes also a cumulative force; and, also, even, so then, too, etc.; often used in connection (or composition) with other particles or small words:--and, also, both, but, even, for, if, or, so, that, then, therefore, when, yet.
  • G2852 — κολαφίζω (kolaphízō, kol-af-id'-zo): I strike with the fist, maltreat — from a derivative of the base of κολάζω; to rap with the fist:--buffet.
  • G3983 — πεινάω (peináō, pi-nah'-o): I am hungry, needy — from the same as πένης (through the idea of pinching toil; "pine"); to famish (absolutely or comparatively); figuratively, to crave:--be an hungered.

The following Strong's numbers are referenced in the Greek (Textus Receptus, Scrivener 1894) text but were not explicitly tagged in the KJV source:

  • G3588 — ὁ (ho, ho): the — the definite article; the (sometimes to be supplied, at others omitted, in English idiom):--the, this, that, one, he, she, it, etc.
  • G5610 — ὥρα (hṓra, ho'-rah): an hour, season — apparently a primary word; an "hour" (literally or figuratively):--day, hour, instant, season, X short, (even-)tide, (high) time.
