Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

I am the vine, ye [are] the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

- G288 — ἄμπελος (ámpelos, am'-pel-os): a vine — probably from the base of ἀμφότερος and that of ἅλων; a vine (as coiling about a support):--vine.
- G575 — ἀπό (apó, apo'): from, away from — a primary particle; "off," i.e. away (from something near), in various senses (of place, time, or relation; literal or figurative):--(X here-)after, ago, at, because of, before, by (the space of), for(-th), from, in, (out) of, off, (up-)on(-ce), since, with. In composition (as a prefix) it usually denotes separation, departure, cessation, completion, reversal, etc.
- G1410 — δύναμαι (dýnamai, doo'-nam-ahee): I am powerful, am able — of uncertain affinity; to be able or possible:--be able, can (do, + -not), could, may, might, be possible, be of power.
- G1438 — ἑαυτοῦ (heautoû, heh-ow-too'): himself, herself, itself — from a reflexive pronoun otherwise obsolete and the genitive case (dative case or accusative case) of αὐτός; him- (her-, it-, them-, also (in conjunction with the personal pronoun of the other persons) my-, thy-, our-, your-) self (selves), etc.:--alone, her (own, -self), (he) himself, his (own), itself, one (to) another, our (thine) own(-selves), + that she had, their (own, own selves), (of) them(-selves), they, thyself, you, your (own, own conceits, own selves, -selves).
- G1698 — ἐμοί (emoí, em-oy'): a prolonged form of μοί; to me:--I, me, mine, my.
- G1722 — ἐν (en, en): in, on, among — a primary preposition denoting (fixed) position (in place, time or state), and (by implication) instrumentality (medially or constructively), i.e. a relation of rest (intermediate between εἰς and ἐκ); "in," at, (up-)on, by, etc.:--about, after, against, + almost, X altogether, among, X as, at, before, between, (here-)by (+ all means), for (… sake of), + give self wholly to, (here-)in(-to, -wardly), X mightily, (because) of, (up-)on, (open-)ly, X outwardly, one, X quickly, X shortly, (speedi-)ly, X that, X there(-in, -on), through(-out), (un-)to(-ward), under, when, where(-with), while, with(-in). - G2504 — κἀγώ (kagṓ, kag-o'): I also, I too — from καί and ἐγώ; so also the dative case , and accusative case and (or also, even, etc.) I, (to) me:--(and, even, even so, so) I (also, in like wise), both me, me also.
- G2531 — καθώς (kathṓs, kath-oce'): just as, as — from κατά and ὡς; just (or inasmuch) as, that:--according to, (according, even) as, how, when.
- G2590 — καρπός (karpós, kar-pos'): fruit, result, gain — probably from the base of ἁρπάζω; fruit (as plucked), literally or figuratively:--fruit.

- G3306 — μένω (ménō, men'-o): I remain, abide — a primary verb; to stay (in a given place, state, relation or expectancy):--abide, continue, dwell, endure, be present, remain, stand, tarry (for), X thine own.
- G3362 — ἐὰν μή (eàn mḗ, eh-an' may): i.e. ἐάν and μή; if not, i.e. unless:--X before, but, except, if, no, (if, + whosoever) not.
- G3756 — οὐ (ou, oo): no, not — a primary word; the absolute negative (compare μή) adverb; no or not:--+ long, nay, neither, never, no (X man), none, (can-)not, + nothing, + special, un(-worthy), when, + without, + yet but. See also οὐ μή, μῆκος.
- G3761 — οὐδέ (oudé, oo-deh'): neither, nor, not even — from οὐ and δέ; not however, i.e. neither, nor, not even:--neither (indeed), never, no (more, nor, not), nor (yet), (also, even, then) not (even, so much as), + nothing, so much as.
- G3779 — οὕτω (hoútō, hoo'-to): thus, so, in this manner — adverb from οὗτος; in this way (referring to what precedes or follows):--after that, after (in) this manner, as, even (so), for all that, like(-wise), no more, on this fashion(-wise), so (in like manner), thus, what.
- G5210 — ὑμεῖς (hymeîs, hoo-mice'): irregular plural of σύ; you (as subjective of verb):--ye (yourselves), you.
- G5213 — ὑμῖν (hymîn, hoo-min'): irregular dative case of ὑμεῖς; to (with or by) you:--ye, you, your(-selves).
- G5342 — φέρω (phérō, fer'-o): I carry, bear, bring, lead — a primary verb (for which other, and apparently not cognate ones are used in certain tenses only; namely, ; and ; to "bear" or carry (in a very wide application, literally and figuratively, as follows):--be, bear, bring (forth), carry, come, + let her drive, be driven, endure, go on, lay, lead, move, reach, rushing, uphold.
