For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;

But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;

- G146 — αἰσχροκερδής (aischrokerdḗs, ahee-skhrok-er-dace'): greedy — from αἰσχρός and (gain); sordid:--given to (greedy of) filthy lucre.
- G410 — ἀνέγκλητος (anénklētos, an-eng'-klay-tos): irreproachable, blameless — from Α (as a negative particle) and a derivative of ἐγκαλέω; unaccused, i.e. (by implication) irreproachable:--blameless.
