Acts 8:20

Acts 8:19 Acts 8:20 (KJV) Acts 8:21
Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost.
But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.
Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.

In composition it retains the same general importance.

  • G1498 — εἴην (eíēn, i'-ane): optative (i.e. English subjunctive) present of εἰμί (including the other person); might (could, would, or should) be:--mean, + perish, should be, was, were.
