And they stoned Stephen, calling upon [God], and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.

And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

- G1209 — δέχομαι (déchomai, dekh'-om-ahee): I take, receive, accept, welcome — middle voice of a primary verb; to receive (in various applications, literally or figuratively):--accept, receive, take. Compare λαμβάνω.
- G1941 — ἐπικαλέομαι (epikaléomai, ep-ee-kal-eh'-om-ahee): I call by an additional name, appeal to — middle voice from ἐπί and καλέω; to entitle; by implication, to invoke (for aid, worship, testimony, decision, etc.):--appeal (unto), call (on, upon), surname.
- G2424 — Ἰησοῦς (Iēsoûs, ee-ay-sooce'): Jesus — of Hebrew origin (יְהוֹשׁוּעַ); Jesus (i.e. Jehoshua), the name of our Lord and two (three) other Israelites:--Jesus.

- G4151 — πνεῦμα (pneûma, pnyoo'-mah): wind, breath, spirit — from πνέω; a current of air, i.e. breath (blast) or a breeze; by analogy or figuratively, a spirit, i.e. (human) the rational soul, (by implication) vital principle, mental disposition, etc., or (superhuman) an angel, demon, or (divine) God, Christ's spirit, the Holy Spirit:--ghost, life, spirit(-ual, -ually), mind. - G4736 — Στέφανος (Stéphanos, stef'-an-os): Stephen — the same as στέφανος; Stephanus, a Christian:--Stephen.
