1 Peter 2:23
| ← 1 Peter 2:22 | 1 Peter 2:23 (KJV) | 1 Peter 2:24 → |
|---|---|---|
Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:
|
Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed [himself] to him that judgeth righteously:
|
Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

- G546 — ἀπειλέω (apeiléō, ap-i-leh'-o): I threaten, forbid by threatening — of uncertain derivation; to menace; by implication, to forbid:--threaten.
- G1161 — δέ (dé, deh): but, on the other hand, and — a primary particle (adversative or continuative); but, and, etc.:--also, and, but, moreover, now (often unexpressed in English).
- G1346 — δικαίως (dikaíōs, dik-ah'-yoce): justly, righteously — adverb from δίκαιος; equitably:--justly, (to) righteously(-ness).
- G2919 — κρίνω (krínō, kree'-no): I judge, decide, think good — properly, to distinguish, i.e. decide (mentally or judicially); by implication, to try, condemn, punish:--avenge, conclude, condemn, damn, decree, determine, esteem, judge, go to (sue at the) law, ordain, call in question, sentence to, think.
- G3058 — λοιδορέω (loidoréō, loy-dor-eh'-o): I revile, abuse — from λοίδορος; to reproach, i.e. vilify:--revile.
- G3739 — ὅς (hós, hos): who, which, what, that — probably a primary word (or perhaps a form of the article ὁ); the relatively (sometimes demonstrative) pronoun, who, which, what, that:--one, (an-, the) other, some, that, what, which, who(-m, -se), etc. See also οὗ.
- G3756 — οὐ (ou, oo): no, not — a primary word; the absolute negative (compare μή) adverb; no or not:--+ long, nay, neither, never, no (X man), none, (can-)not, + nothing, + special, un(-worthy), when, + without, + yet but. See also οὐ μή, μῆκος.
- G3860 — παραδίδωμι (paradídōmi, par-ad-id'-o-mee): I hand over, deliver, betray — from παρά and δίδωμι; to surrender, i.e yield up, intrust, transmit:--betray, bring forth, cast, commit, deliver (up), give (over, up), hazard, put in prison, recommend.
- G3958 — πάσχω (páschō, pas'-kho): I am acted upon, suffer — apparently a primary verb; to experience a sensation or impression (usually painful):--feel, passion, suffer, vex.
The following Strong's numbers are referenced in the Greek (Textus Receptus, Scrivener 1894) text but were not explicitly tagged in the KJV source:
- G3588 — ὁ (ho, ho): the — the definite article; the (sometimes to be supplied, at others omitted, in English idiom):--the, this, that, one, he, she, it, etc.
