Likewise, ye wives, [be] in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;

While they behold your chaste conversation [coupled] with fear.

- G391 — ἀναστροφή (anastrophḗ, an-as-trof-ay'): behavior, manner of life — from ἀναστρέφω; behavior:--conversation.
- G427 — ἄνευ (áneu, an'-yoo): without, without the cooperation or knowledge of — a primary particle; without:--without. Compare Α.
- G435 — ἀνήρ (anḗr, an'-ayr): a male human being, a man — a primary word (compare ἄνθρωπος); a man (properly as an individual male):--fellow, husband, man, sir.
