Hebrews 11:25

Hebrews 11:24 Hebrews 11:25 (KJV) Hebrews 11:26
By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter;
Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;
Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.

  • G266 — ἁμαρτία (hamartía, ham-ar-tee'-ah): a sin — from ἁμαρτάνω; a sin (properly abstract):--offence, sin(-ful).
  • G619 — ἀπόλαυσις (apólausis, ap-ol'-ow-sis): the faculty or experience of enjoyment — from a comparative of ἀπό and (to enjoy); full enjoyment:--enjoy(-ment).
  • G2192 — ἔχω (échō, ekh'-o): I have, hold, possess — a primary verb; to hold (used in very various applications, literally or figuratively, direct or remote; such as possession; ability, contiuity, relation, or condition):--be (able, X hold, possessed with), accompany, + begin to amend, can(+ -not), X conceive, count, diseased, do + eat, + enjoy, + fear, following, have, hold, keep, + lack, + go to law, lie, + must needs, + of necessity, + need, next, + recover, + reign, + rest, + return, X sick, take for, + tremble, + uncircumcised, use.
  • G2228 — ἤ (ḗ, ay): or, than — a primary particle of distinction between two connected terms; disjunctive, or; comparative, than:--and, but (either), (n-)either, except it be, (n-)or (else), rather, save, than, that, what, yea. Often used in connection with other particles. Compare especially ἤδη, ἤπερ, ἤτοι.
  • G2316 — θεός (theós, theh'-os): God, a god — of uncertain affinity; a deity, especially (with ὁ) the supreme Divinity; figuratively, a magistrate; by Hebraism, very:--X exceeding, God, god(-ly, -ward).
  • G2992 — λαός (laós, lah-os'): a people, the crowd — apparently a primary word; a people (in general; thus differing from δῆμος, which denotes one's own populace):--people.
  • G3123 — μᾶλλον (mâllon, mal'-lon): more, rather — neuter of the comparative of the same as μάλιστα; (adverbially) more (in a greater degree)) or rather:--+ better, X far, (the) more (and more), (so) much (the more), rather.
  • G4340 — πρόσκαιρος (próskairos, pros'-kahee-ros): temporary — from πρός and καιρός; for the occasion only, i.e. temporary:--dur-(eth) for awhile, endure for a time, for a season, temporal.
  • G4778 — συγκακουχέω (synkakouchéō, soong-kak-oo-kheh'-o): I suffer ill-treatment with — from σύν and κακουχέω; to maltreat in company with, i.e. (passively) endure persecution together:--suffer affliction with.

The following Strong's numbers are referenced in the Greek (Textus Receptus, Scrivener 1894) text but were not explicitly tagged in the KJV source:

  • G3588 — ὁ (ho, ho): the — the definite article; the (sometimes to be supplied, at others omitted, in English idiom):--the, this, that, one, he, she, it, etc.
