|---|---|---|
But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty [and] two months.
|
And I will give [power] unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred [and] threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.

These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.

- G1250 — διακόσιοι (diakósioi, dee-ak-os'-ee-oy): two hundred — from δίς and ἑκατόν; two hundred:--two hundred.
- G1325 — δίδωμι (dídōmi, did'-o-mee): I offer, give — a prolonged form of a primary verb (which is used as an alternative in most of the tenses); to give (used in a very wide application, properly, or by implication, literally or figuratively; greatly modified by the connection):--adventure, bestow, bring forth, commit, deliver (up), give, grant, hinder, make, minister, number, offer, have power, put, receive, set, shew, smite (+ with the hand), strike (+ with the palm of the hand), suffer, take, utter, yield.
- G1417 — δύο (dýo, doo'-o): two — a primary numeral; "two":--both, twain, two.
- G1835 — ἑξήκοντα (hexḗkonta, hex-ay'-kon-tah): sixty — the tenth multiple of ἕξ; sixty:--sixty(-fold), threescore.
- G2250 — ἡμέρα (hēméra, hay-mer'-ah): a day — feminine (with ὥρα implied) of a derivative of (to sit; akin to the base of ἑδραῖος) meaning tame, i.e. gentle; day, i.e. (literally) the time space between dawn and dark, or the whole 24 hours (but several days were usually reckoned by the Jews as inclusive of the parts of both extremes); figuratively, a period (always defined more or less clearly by the context):--age, + alway, (mid-)day (by day, (-ly)), + for ever, judgment, (day) time, while, years.
- G2532 — καί (kaí, kahee): and, even, also, namely — apparently, a primary particle, having a copulative and sometimes also a cumulative force; and, also, even, so then, too, etc.; often used in connection (or composition) with other particles or small words:--and, also, both, but, even, for, if, or, so, that, then, therefore, when, yet.
- G3144 — μάρτυς (mártys, mar'-toos): a witness — of uncertain affinity; a witness (literally (judicially) or figuratively (genitive case)); by analogy, a "martyr":-- martyr, record, witness.
- G3450 — μοῦ (moû, moo): the simpler form of ἐμοῦ; of me:--I, me, mine (own), my.
- G4016 — περιβάλλω (peribállō, per-ee-bal'-lo): I cast around, clothe — from περί and βάλλω; to throw all around, i.e. invest (with a palisade or with clothing):--array, cast about, clothe(-d me), put on.
- G4395 — προφητεύω (prophēteúō, prof-ate-yoo'-o): I foretell, prophesy — from προφήτης; to foretell events, divine, speak under inspiration, exercise the prophetic office:--prophesy.
- G4526 — σάκκος (sákkos, sak'-kos): sack-cloth — of Hebrew origin (שַׂק); "sack"-cloth, i.e. mohair (the material or garments made of it, worn as a sign of grief):-- sackcloth.
- G5507 — χίλιοι (chílioi, khil'-ee-oy): a thousand — plural of uncertain affinity; a thousand:--thousand.
The following Strong's numbers are referenced in the Greek (Textus Receptus, Scrivener 1894) text but were not explicitly tagged in the KJV source:
- G3588 — ὁ (ho, ho): the — the definite article; the (sometimes to be supplied, at others omitted, in English idiom):--the, this, that, one, he, she, it, etc.
