For the law was given by Moses, [but] grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
|
No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared [him].

- G1565 — ἐκεῖνος (ekeînos, ek-i'-nos): that, that one there, yonder — from ἐκεῖ; that one (or (neuter) thing); often intensified by the article prefixed:--he, it, the other (same), selfsame, that (same, very), X their, X them, they, this, those. See also οὗτος.
- G1834 — ἐξηγέομαι (exēgéomai, ex-ayg-eh'-om-ahee): I explain, make declaration — from ἐκ and ἡγέομαι; to consider out (aloud), i.e. rehearse, unfold:--declare, tell.
- G2316 — θεός (theós, theh'-os): God, a god — of uncertain affinity; a deity, especially (with ὁ) the supreme Divinity; figuratively, a magistrate; by Hebraism, very:--X exceeding, God, god(-ly, -ward).
- G2859 — κόλπος (kólpos, kol'-pos): bosom, bosom of a garment, a bay, gulf — apparently a primary word; the bosom; by analogy, a bay:--bosom, creek.

- G3708 — ὁράω (horáō, hor-ah'-o): I see, look upon, experience — properly, to stare at (compare ὀπτάνομαι), i.e. (by implication) to discern clearly (physically or mentally); by extension, to attend to; by Hebraism, to experience; passively, to appear:--behold, perceive, see, take heed.
- G3762 — οὐδείς (oudeís, oo-dice'): no one, none, nothing — from οὐδέ and εἷς; not even one (man, woman or thing), i.e. none, nobody, nothing:--any (man), aught, man, neither any (thing), never (man), no (man), none (+ of these things), not (any, at all, -thing), nought.
- G3962 — πατήρ (patḗr, pat-ayr'): father, Father, ancestor — apparently a primary word; a "father" (literally or figuratively, near or more remote):--father, parent.
- G4455 — πώποτε (pṓpote, po'-pot-e): at any time, ever — from -πω and ποτέ; at any time, i.e. (with negative particle) at no time:--at any time, + never (…to any man), + yet, never man.
- G5207 — υἱός (huiós, hwee-os'): a son, descendent — apparently a primary word; a "son" (sometimes of animals), used very widely of immediate, remote or figuratively, kinship:--child, foal, son.
The following Strong's numbers are referenced in the Greek (Textus Receptus, Scrivener 1894) text but were not explicitly tagged in the KJV source:
