Romans 9:4

Romans 9:3 Romans 9:4 (KJV) Romans 9:5
For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh:
Who are Israelites; to whom [pertaineth] the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service [of God], and the promises;
Whose [are] the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ [came], who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.

Strong's References
  • G1242 — διαθήκη (diathḗkē, dee-ath-ay'-kay): a covenant, will, testament — from διατίθεμαι; properly, a disposition, i.e. (specially) a contract (especially a devisory will):--covenant, testament.
  • G1391 — δόξα (dóxa, dox'-ah): honor, renown, glory splendor — from the base of δοκέω; glory (as very apparent), in a wide application (literal or figurative, objective or subjective):--dignity, glory(-ious), honour, praise, worship.
  • G1526 — εἰσί (eisí, i-see'): 3rd person plural present indicative of εἰμί; they are:--agree, are, be, dure, X is, were.
  • G1860 — ἐπαγγελία (epangelía, ep-ang-el-ee'-ah): a promise — from ἐπαγγέλλω; an announcement (for information, assent or pledge; especially a divine assurance of good):--message, promise.
  • G2475 — Ἰσραηλίτης (Israēlítēs, is-rah-ale-ee'-tace): an Israelite — from Ἰσραήλ; an "Israelite", i.e. descendant of Israel (literally or figuratively):--Israelite.
  • G2532 — καί (kaí, kahee): and, even, also, namely — apparently, a primary particle, having a copulative and sometimes also a cumulative force; and, also, even, so then, too, etc.; often used in connection (or composition) with other particles or small words:--and, also, both, but, even, for, if, or, so, that, then, therefore, when, yet.
  • G2999 — λατρεία (latreía, lat-ri'-ah): service, worship — from λατρεύω; ministration of God, i.e. worship:--(divine) service.
  • G3548 — νομοθεσία (nomothesía, nom-oth-es-ee'-ah): lawgiving, legislation — from νομοθέτης; legislation (specially, the institution of the Mosaic code):--giving of the law.
  • G3739 — ὅς (hós, hos): who, which, what, that — probably a primary word (or perhaps a form of the article ὁ); the relatively (sometimes demonstrative) pronoun, who, which, what, that:--one, (an-, the) other, some, that, what, which, who(-m, -se), etc. See also οὗ.
  • G3748 — ὅστις (hóstis, hos'-tis): whosoever, whichsoever, whatsoever — from ὅς and τὶς; which some, i.e. any that; also (definite) which same:--X and (they), (such) as, (they) that, in that they, what(-soever), whereas ye, (they) which, who(-soever). Compare ὅτι.
  • G5206 — υἱοθεσία (huiothesía, hwee-oth-es-ee'-ah): adoption — from a presumed compound of υἱός and a derivative of τίθημι; the placing as a son, i.e. adoption (figuratively, Christian sonship in respect to God):--adoption (of children, of sons).

The following Strong's numbers are referenced in the Greek (Textus Receptus, Scrivener 1894) text but were not explicitly tagged in the KJV source:

  • G3588 — ὁ (ho, ho): the — the definite article; the (sometimes to be supplied, at others omitted, in English idiom):--the, this, that, one, he, she, it, etc.
