Philippians 2:15

Philippians 2:14 Philippians 2:15 (KJV) Philippians 2:16
Do all things without murmurings and disputings:
That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;
Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.

Strong's References
  • G185 — ἀκέραιος (akéraios, ak-er'-ah-yos): simple, unsophisticated, innocent — from Α (as a negative particle) and a presumed derivative of κεράννυμι; unmixed, i.e. (figuratively) innocent:--harmless, simple.
  • G273 — ἄμεμπτος (ámemptos, am'-emp-tos): blameless — from Α (as a negative particle) and a derivative of μέμφομαι; irreproachable:--blameless, faultless, unblamable.
  • G298 — ἀμώμητος (amṓmētos, am-o'-may-tos): without blame or fault — from Α (as a negative particle) and a derivative of μωμάομαι; unblamable:--blameless.
  • G1074 — γενεά (geneá, ghen-eh-ah'): a generation — from (a presumed derivative of) γένος; a generation; by implication, an age (the period or the persons):--age, generation, nation, time.
  • G1096 — γίνομαι (gínomai, ghin'-om-ahee): I come into being, am born — a prolongation and middle voice form of a primary verb; to cause to be ("gen"-erate), i.e. (reflexively) to become (come into being), used with great latitude (literal, figurative, intensive, etc.):--arise, be assembled, be(-come, -fall, -have self), be brought (to pass), (be) come (to pass), continue, be divided, draw, be ended, fall, be finished, follow, be found, be fulfilled, + God forbid, grow, happen, have, be kept, be made, be married, be ordained to be, partake, pass, be performed, be published, require, seem, be showed, X soon as it was, sound, be taken, be turned, use, wax, will, would, be wrought.
  • G1294 — διαστρέφω (diastréphō, dee-as-tref'-o): I pervert, corrupt, oppose — from διά and στρέφω; to distort, i.e. (figuratively) misinterpret, or (morally) corrupt:--perverse(-rt), turn away.
  • G1722 — ἐν (en, en): in, on, among — a primary preposition denoting (fixed) position (in place, time or state), and (by implication) instrumentality (medially or constructively), i.e. a relation of rest (intermediate between εἰς and ἐκ); "in," at, (up-)on, by, etc.:--about, after, against, + almost, X altogether, among, X as, at, before, between, (here-)by (+ all means), for (… sake of), + give self wholly to, (here-)in(-to, -wardly), X mightily, (because) of, (up-)on, (open-)ly, X outwardly, one, X quickly, X shortly, (speedi-)ly, X that, X there(-in, -on), through(-out), (un-)to(-ward), under, when, where(-with), while, with(-in). Often used in compounds, with substantially the same import; rarely with verbs of motion, and then not to indicate direction, except (elliptically) by a separate (and different) preposition.
  • G2316 — θεός (theós, theh'-os): God, a god — of uncertain affinity; a deity, especially (with ὁ) the supreme Divinity; figuratively, a magistrate; by Hebraism, very:--X exceeding, God, god(-ly, -ward).
  • G2443 — ἵνα (hína, hin'-ah): in order that, so that — probably from the same as the former part of ἑαυτοῦ (through the demonstrative idea; compare ὁ); in order that (denoting the purpose or the result):--albeit, because, to the intent (that), lest, so as, (so) that, (for) to. Compare ἵνα μή.
  • G2532 — καί (kaí, kahee): and, even, also, namely — apparently, a primary particle, having a copulative and sometimes also a cumulative force; and, also, even, so then, too, etc.; often used in connection (or composition) with other particles or small words:--and, also, both, but, even, for, if, or, so, that, then, therefore, when, yet.
  • G2889 — κόσμος (kósmos, kos'-mos): the world, universe — probably from the base of κομίζω; orderly arrangement, i.e. decoration; by implication, the world (in a wide or narrow sense, including its inhabitants, literally or figuratively (morally)):--adorning, world.
  • G3319 — μέσος (mésos, mes'-os): middle, in the middle — from μετά; middle (as an adjective or (neuter) noun):--among, X before them, between, + forth, mid(-day, -night), midst, way.
  • G3739 — ὅς (hós, hos): who, which, what, that — probably a primary word (or perhaps a form of the article ὁ); the relatively (sometimes demonstrative) pronoun, who, which, what, that:--one, (an-, the) other, some, that, what, which, who(-m, -se), etc. See also οὗ.
  • G4646 — σκολιός (skoliós, skol-ee-os'): crooked, perverse, unfair — from the base of σκέλος; warped, i.e. winding; figuratively, perverse:--crooked, froward, untoward.
  • G5043 — τέκνον (téknon, tek'-non): a child, descendent, inhabitant — from the base of τίκτω; a child (as produced):--child, daughter, son.
  • G5316 — φαίνω (phaínō, fah'-ee-no): I shine, appear, seem — prolongation for the base of φῶς; to lighten (shine), i.e. show (transitive or intransitive, literal or figurative):-- appear, seem, be seen, shine, X think.
  • G5458 — φωστήρ (phōstḗr, foce-tare'): a light, brilliancy — from φῶς; an illuminator, i.e. (concretely) a luminary, or (abstractly) brilliancy:--light.

The following Strong's numbers are referenced in the Greek (Textus Receptus, Scrivener 1894) text but were not explicitly tagged in the KJV source:

  • G5613 — ὡς (hōs, hoce): as, like as, how, while, so that — probably adverb of comparative from ὅς; which how, i.e. in that manner (very variously used, as follows):--about, after (that), (according) as (it had been, it were), as soon (as), even as (like), for, how (greatly), like (as, unto), since, so (that), that, to wit, unto, when(-soever), while, X with all speed.
